Computerworld - Apple is disputing ownership of the iphone5.com domain,
sparking speculation that the company will use the long-rumored name for its
next smartphone.

Apple's announcement to move their Macs from PowerPC to Intel processors in

Just hours before Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to take the stage to kick
off the keynote at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference, AllThingsD
has posted the full video of his interview at last month's D10 conference.
MacRumors was on hand for the event to offer a rough transcript of the

MacRumors has learned that Apple will be launching its annual Back to School
promotion in the United States and a likely a number of other countries.
As in previous years, Apple will be offering iTunes Store gift cards to
educational customers purchasing qualifying products.
The major new addition to the program this year is the iPad, with purchasers
receiving a $50 iTunes Store gift card with the purchase of a new iPad.

Shipping estimates for the Retina MacBook Pro continue to slip, with new
orders now estimated to ship in 3-4 weeks across Apple's online stores. The
slip to 3-4 weeks comes roughly 24 hours after they slipped to 2-3 weeks.
But while new orders will take some time to arrive, some of those who were
able to order their machines soon after the online store came back up on

While we noted early yesterday that the first Retina MacBook Pro orders had
begun shipping, a number of MacRumors readers are now reporting that the
first deliveries are already arriving.
At least one of the readers who received his new MacBook Pro had ordered a
custom configuration, bumping the high-end stock model to the 2.7 GHz
processor and 16 GB of RAM.

从开始macrumor 上自动推送，让果粉可以更方便在本版看到消息。基本效果还可以。
后来增加了苹果finance 有关，但因为是热门股票，造成消息过多，引起一部分本版用
户的抱怨，已经停止了相应的抓取。
对于新闻抓取和自动推送，我相信不同的人看法不一样，不是每个果粉都每天去每个网
站看一圈，重要的我如果能在果版看到，省时省力。
对于占到的版面比例，会注意控制一下。过于频繁的消息源头我会尽量避免。
如果大家有别的提议，可以pm 提出。
相关的抱怨和讨论，我已经在板斧讨论区备份。

A number of MacRumors readers are reporting that iCloud services are
currently down, and based on the number of reports it appears that the
outage is quite widespread. Apple's iCloud system status page is currently
acknowledging access issues, although there is no estimate of the proportion
of iCloud users being affected.

At its Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this month, Apple officially
announced that OS X Mountain Lion would launch sometime in July through the
Mac App Store, carrying a low upgrade price of $19.99 for users of OS X
Lion or Snow Leopard. Following the conference keynote, Apple also released

Apple today updated its investor relations page to note that it will
announce its earnings for the third fiscal quarter (second calendar quarter)
of 2012 on Tuesday, July 24. The earnings release typically occurs just
after 4:30 PM Eastern Time following the close of regular stock trading, and
the conference call is scheduled to follow at 5:00 PM Eastern / 2:00 PM
Pacific.

Originally announced this past April, AT&T will unveil a database of stolen
phones to prevent lost devices from connecting to the carrier's network. The
Verge reported the launch with a leaked internal AT&T screenshot showing a
launch date of July 10, 2012.

Despite being located in the largest shopping mall in the United States as
measured by leasable square feet, Apple's King of Prussia retail store at
the King of Prussia Mall outside of Philadelphia is nothing special by Apple
's standards, occupying a fairly small amount of space with just 30 feet of
frontage inside the mall. The store is one of the older ones in Apple's
chain, having opened in November 2002.

Mountain Lion (10.8) is a $19.99 upgrade that will be available on the

Philip Elmer-Dewitt has put together his list of analyst expectations ahead
of Apple's quarterly earnings report this afternoon. The list includes
estimates from 68 analysts: 34 "independent" and 34 "institutional" who work
for large investment houses or research organizations.
As usual, the independents are much more bullish than the institutional

Apple today announced financial results for the second calendar quarter and
third fiscal quarter of 2012. For the quarter, Apple posted revenue of $
35.0 billion and net quarterly profit of $8.8 billion, or $9.32 per
diluted share, compared to revenue of $28.57 billion and net quarterly
profit of $7.31 billion, or $7.79 per diluted share, in the year-ago
quarter.

Today, Apple launched OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion for $19.99 on the Mac App
Store. The latest version OS X provides a number of new features borrowed

As part of the streamlining of Safari 6, Apple removed a number of items
from the main toolbar including the dedicated Google search box and the
button that allowed users to easily subscribe to RSS feeds right from the
toolbar.
The lack of a Google Search box doesn't affect much as users can now search
by typing within the address box, much like in Google Chrome. The lack of an
RSS button is a bit trickier, however.
