confidence this month to its lowest reading since November 2011, according
to a report released Tuesday.
The Conference Board, a private research group, said its index of consumer
confidence fell further to 58.6 in January from a revised 66.7 in December,

released Tuesday by the Institute for Supply Management. The upbeat reading
adds to expectations of an acceleration in U.S. economic growth in the
second half.

伊利诺埃Senate Bill 1 Amendment 1(SB1 Amend1 ) 是一个州议案。它的通过将大量
降低Chicago附近学区的教育经费，影响学校教育质量。
SB1的中心内容是将全州范围内各地区地税集中使用, 再按照人口, 向各个学区平均分
配。这个议案企图改变各个地区学区教育经费由本地地税负责的现状。其结果就是高收
入高地税地区的教育经费流向低收入低地税地区。如果该议案通过, 受益地区将是芝加
哥南部学区，受损地区将是芝加哥北部，北郊，西北郊，西郊等地区。受损地区其本上
是排名比较靠前的学区，也往往是亚裔喜欢的学区。有些地区的教育经费甚至会减少百
分之五十。教育经费的减少必然带来教育质量的下降，这对于为了孩子的教育住而在好
学区，勤奋工作付出大量努力的人，尤其是重视教育的亚裔是不公平的。

伊州也想解决pension问题，但是一个左逼法官硬是把两党通过的pension改革给block
了。另外就是伊州和芝加哥的垃圾选民太多，那么多年都让猪党和Mike Madigan把持着

伊利诺伊州连续几年财政预算没过，一百四十亿美金的赤字，养老金没着落，就要破产
了。不提倡好好自己劳动，只提倡吃福利的下场。
芝加哥可能是伊利诺伊里面最苦逼的地区吧，这几年明显感觉税越来越高。SALES TAX
现在是全美最高10.25%。伊州已经取消了MAP GRANT很多大学生拿不到这个政府的资助
金，但是还得继续上大学，给所在学校的财政压力很大（因为学校一般都会选择留下这
些学生，用学校的资源暂时帮他们过渡一段时间）。 买水要交WATER TAX, 超市商店每
个袋子7分钱，7/1号开始买带SUGAR的饮料都要被额外扣税。很多时候州政府就是劫富
济贫，对不公平的法律睁一只眼闭一只眼。看一下这里是多么保护租客就知道了，一个
