No... an issue is not partisan when most of the independent
voters are determinedly leaning one way.

■Coakley supporters flee focus group in shame.
They don’t want to be on television defending Martha Coakley. It's passé.
It’s socially unacceptable. I never dreamed I’d see Democrats in
Massachusetts embarrassed to admit they’re Democrats.
said pollster Frank Luntz, trying to put together a focus group with Coakley
supporters on election night of Massachusetts senate race.

Coakley campaign alleges voting irregularities
EmailE-mail|Link|Comments () January 19, 2010 06:30 PM
By Andrea Estes, Globe Staff
The Senate campaign of Democrat Martha Coakley said this evening that
ballots pre-marked for Republican rival Scott Brown have been given out at
several polling places across the state.
"We want all voters to be aware that this is happening, and to check their
ballots carefully so that they can be counted," said Coakley's campaign
manager, Kevin Conroy. "We will cont

Forget the sound bytes. The health care issus, etc. You know, all this
talk is meaningless. Bottom line is that Martha ran a lousy campaign. Don
't you all read the newspapers?? I've been around a long time and never
have I seen a candidate so personally uninvolved and aloof--right from the
beginning. If you can't get out and shake hands with people, the issues are
meaningless.

My comment: Democratic candidate Martha Coakley for the Senate vanished
after she won the primary for 2 weeks around Christmas. After she returned
from vacation, her campaign was sporadic. The campaign strategy (to ignore a
weak opponent) was not totally invalid, as she was--and still is--attorney
general of Massachusetts, well

Washington (CNN) -- A federal appeals court has tossed out key provisions of
the sweeping health care reform bill championed by President Obama, setting
up a likely election-year showdown at the Supreme Court over the landmark
legislation.
A 2-1 panel of the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Atlanta on Friday
found that the law's "individual mandate" section -- requiring nearly all
Americans to purchase health insurance by 2014 or face financial penalties -
- was an improper exercise of fede...
