早上出门，再次发现自己的车被严严实实的覆在寸许厚的白雪下，庆幸
自己昨晚选择了住motel而不是勉强睡在摇曳的帐篷中，但马上就意识到
今天的路恐怕又不好走了。本来打算沿I10继续东行一段然后转118南下
去Mcdonald Obervatory看看，但路况不好的话为了不耽搁这天下午的
行程，干脆放弃，从Van Horn直接南下90. 开始几十迈的确难走，路上
的雪根本还没来得及清理，而且对向行车，中间没有隔离带，万一哪一
方会车时打一打滑就容易出事故。不过一个小时后过了小镇Valentine,
路上雪水便已融化，终於又可以撒开欢的跑了。於是心念一动，转505
接166，过Fort Davis再南下17. Fort Davis是Mcdonald Obervatory
南面的一个小镇，Rt 166也是和Rt 118 同被AAA划为风景线路的，这样
走虽然绕些路，也算对没能经停Rt 118的一点补偿。Rt 17过Marfa后变
Rt 67, 路况很好，限速不低(65 or 70?) --- 德州大概最舒 |

油。从达拉斯出城后上了35E后就连上20号公路一路向西。 路上基本没有什么可以留恋
的风景，
加上近来心情低落，没
啥胃口吃饭， 光啃了自带的半个面包， 所以基本上是一口气把20号公路开到了头。
第一个目的地是去McDonald天文台， 坐落在Davis Mountains. 山脚下有个小镇叫Fort
Davis. 出发前两天在网上找旅

I started my second leg right after 4am. This section is on highway 30
between Scapoose and St Helens, exactly the same route on STP. I know this
stretch of highway very well, I even remember where the big man wells are.
It's rated moderate, 7ish miles, the elevation profile is almost totally
flat. I started at a 7:10 pace and tried to maintain it all the way. The
wind picked up at various spots which slowed me down a little but the night

小的时候 最先玩的是纸牌的Monopoly，

们几个在那感叹，死也要死在那么美的地方。
下面的数据是从山下到那个大Glacier, 我们到了以后休息一阵还继续往上走，到了看

说起文字和言论，不由想到C.S. Lewis,。他31岁以前是无神论者，31岁成为有神论者
（theist），两年后成为基督徒。他的几乎所有的作品，包括"纳尼亚传奇"系列，都是
在成为基督徒以后写的。
Lewis 的经典之作 Mere Christianity，我不久前才读完。这书应该会吸引那些喜欢理
性思考的人。比如，他说到如何理解神在时间空间之外的比喻，就对我帮助很大。
说到 C.S. Lewis, 又想到J.R.R. Tolkien。这位指环王的作者是天主教徒，Lewis的朋
友，在Lewis归向基督教的路途中曾起了相当大的作用。
另一位大大影响Lewis归向基督的作家是早于Lewis一代的George McDonald。McDanold
是曾作过牧师的基督徒。读了McDonald的 Phantastes （fantasy novel，我没读过）

昨天看到上高中的儿子的网上成绩单，结果是生物成绩最好，可把我急坏了，这还得了
！赶紧现身说法，跟他讲男人啊最怕的就是入错行，比如你爹我，本来志向是做导演泡
美女，结果呢，落得个每天抱个电脑干交流。我儿子乐的嘴都撇到后脑勺去了，当场给
我出了一题，要考考他爹到底有没有艺术细胞，让咱给设计个麦当劳广告瞧瞧。介也太
容易了，他爹我想都不用想立马就来，广告的PLOT是这样的：
麦当劳快餐店房顶的牌子上蹲着两只乌鸦，一只特肥另一只特瘦，它们嘴里各叼着一根
薯条，然后开始在那里嘀咕：
瘦乌鸦：哪找的？
胖乌鸦： Down there！

关于ICU，讲事实，不推测，不分析，不讲观点。
瓜哥上个月刚刚在ICU里混了4天。
家属可以24小时陪，有个小沙发可以拉开三层，基本可以平躺。护士提供毯子枕头。
至于12岁一下子小孩子不让进ICU的理由，是因为ICU里面有很多cable wire，怕小孩子
不懂事乱拔。但不是绝对不让进，而是需要有医院专门人士对小孩子做assessment，
评估之后认为小孩子不会乱动就可以进。
有三家朋友来进来探望过，当然是探望允许时间之内。
家属可以有一人陪，所以俺24小时陪的。其他家属医院可以帮忙申请ronald mcdonald
house, "home away from home"，$10/night/room。当然有条件要求。这里也给
ronald mcdonald house charities做个广告。嘿嘿。
电脑/iPad/手机都带了用，医院wifi上网。ICU里面比Regular floor信号强。
关于停车费用。有人找出来的UCSD Medical网上policy。

！赶紧现身说法，跟他讲男人啊最怕的就是入错行，比如你爹我，本来志向是做导演泡
美女，结果呢，落得个每天抱个电脑干交流。我儿子乐的嘴都撇到后脑勺去了，当场给
我出了一题，要考考他爹到底有没有艺术细胞，让咱给设计个麦当劳广告瞧瞧。介也太
容易了，他爹我想都不用想立马就来，广告的PLOT是这样的：
麦当劳快餐店房顶的牌子上蹲着两只乌鸦，一只特肥另一只特瘦，它们嘴里各叼着一根
薯条，然后开始在那里嘀咕：
瘦乌鸦：哪找的？
胖乌鸦： 那儿！
镜头切换，一群肥乌鸦正在不远处的KFC旁边的垃圾桶里乱翻腾。。。
胖乌鸦： 你呢？
瘦乌鸦： Down here !
啪的一声，薯条掉下来，被地上的一只瘦狐狸张嘴接住，“Yami, Mcdonald!"

我想还是早到一会， 买了两杯咖啡， 反正随便聊天么， 不过也没有什么好说的， 可
能是我人比较BORING。GG开始问的问题不外乎是你是哪里人， 出国多久了， 有没有身
份， 干什么的。
接着是谢谢我的咖啡，然后是抱怨麦当劳的咖啡难喝。 看看时间也差不多了， 他反正
