The Colorado state senate appropriations committee Friday approved a civil
unions bill by a party-line vote of 6-4.
SB-172, sponsored by gay Democratic senator Pat Steadman of Denver, now

couples in the state rights similar to married couples failed Monday after
Republicans rejected the proposal during a special legislative session.
Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper had said the special session was needed to

常失望。

连接温哥华和烈治文的加拿大线（Canada Line）单车行人专用桥，周五下午正式启用
。不少公眾在率先使用该桥之后，讚不绝口；但也有市民担心桥樑是行人、单车混合双
向使用，存在安全隱忧。对此，运联表示將密切关注桥樑交通安全问题，如有必要將来
会划分行人及单车线路。
运输联网（TransLink）预计，每日会有5,000人次使用该桥。
周五中午，联邦国会议员杜新志（Ujjal Dosanjh）、卑诗省议员何乐华（Rob Howard
）、温哥华署理市长麦杰士（Geoff Meggs）及运联行政总裁普伦德加斯特（Thomas
Prendergast）自温哥华一侧上桥；而国会议员黄陈小萍、烈治文署理市长庄士顿（Ken

决通过《杀虫剂使用管制附例》（Pesticide Use Control Bylaw），执法人员有权向
违例业主发出1,000元的罚款告票。
市议员麦乐田（Bill McNulty）说：「这条禁令早应实施，大部分城镇也实施相关条例
。」附例禁止在私人及市府土地上使用杀虫剂，以维持草地、树木、花卉及其他植物美

【明報專訊】運輸聯線(TransLink)醞釀在10年內提高車費40%，多名列治文市議員昨日
向運聯提案，要求運聯先設法杜絕坐「霸王車」的問題，之後才來思考是否應該提高車
費。議員們認為運聯如能將每年因「霸王客」所造成的近千萬元損失追回，財政問題或
可獲得解決。
列治文市議員鄧偉雄表示，運聯在提高車費前，必須先設法消除少數市民坐「霸王車」
的情況，否則對守規矩付錢坐車的市民非常不公平。他呼籲運聯在加拿大線這類有眾多
乘客的運輸系統上，安裝電子閘門以杜絕不願買票乘客。
運聯目前正向卑詩區域運輸委員會申請，於明年4月1日提高月票及Fare Saver乘車券10
%的價格，未來10年更計劃加價40%。
根據PricewaterhouseCoopers一份最新的調查報告顯示，每年大溫有410萬人次的「霸
