was doing.
Medtronic was in china for a long time, they know KH's product, They must
think some value for KH's product.

发帖数: 27 | 10 刚拿到了offer，职位是senior biostatistician，主要做cardiovascular方面的
medical device开发，看职位要求也就是用SAS做一些数据处理和统计分析，写个
protocol和SAP，review一下TLF，计算一下sample size，偶尔用下experimental
design等等。总之和我之前在CRO做的工作性质差不多，我有信心做好。但是有两个问
题：
1。请问熟悉这家公司的前辈，他们的产品前景到底如何呀？值不值得去？
2。如果以后我想跳槽去大药厂，medical device的经验会不会不算数？因为制药的
clinical trials好象和医疗器械的trials不太一样。
3。我在CRO的title是associate biostatistician，现在只有2年不到的工作经验，去
Medtronic的title一下子变成senior biostatistician，我都难以相信。是不是药厂的
senior biostatistician只相当于CRO的biostatistician；药厂的principal

堆绿纸最后又得白送回去换药和医疗器械。我回国看到医院里用的净是GE,medtronics,
boston scientific 的东东。药店里卖的最火的还是pfizer,merck,j&j的洋药。好多广
告上的洋药都是说过了美国FDA二期测试的。就是说tg放任洋药厂把中国人当白鼠。 |

的科技进步了。
以前，只要你有PACEMAKER，基本就一票否决不能做MRI了，有了这个PACEMAKER，就没
有障碍了。MEDTRONICS的这个产品，定价和别的PACEMAKER还差不多。都是一万来块美
刀。病人肯定都选这个了。 |

明州面积是美国第12大州，人口第21大州，经济情况不错，2014失业率是4.6%。
GDP $262 billion in 2008，美国TOP 1,000的上市公司有32总部在明州，比较有名的
有Target, UnitedHealth Group, 3M, Medtronic, General Mills, U.S. Bancorp,
Ameriprise, Best Buy。私有企业最大有Cargill（美国最大的私有公司）,和 Carlson

人均收入$42,772，全美第十高，三年家庭收入中值（2002-2004）$55,914，全美第五

The list below barely scratches the surface of companies that have done this
same thing. If you were able to procure the client lists of HCL, Tata,
Infosys, Cognizant, etc. I would virtually guarantee no less than half their
major clients did not begin or expand their engagement coinciding with
laying off domestic workers.

金的。
3M原来叫Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company，二战前是在DULUTH的一个很
小的公司挖铁矿，做TAPE什么的。二战开始了，美国需要大量的钢铁和砂轮儿这些东西
。MN有很多露天铁矿，你现在去北边IRON RANGE，有好多可漂亮的＂湖＂，其实是挖矿
废弃的矿坑。不少公司就发财了。Medtronic也是二战结束后成立的，那几个家伙是为
美军生产、修理医疗器械发家的。
二战结束了，这些公司有了很多钱，或者买或者自己开发，搞出些东西，一下子冒出来
不少。比如3M的PFOA，杜邦特佛龙的原材料。
因为短期内对钢铁的需求量太大了，这些人以下子弄到很多钱。然后什么都干，TARGET

收入，我在加州只会是ENGINEER，来明州可以做MANAGEMENT的工作，收入上在明州划算。
花费，加州明显要高，不光是住房，如果不是特意去找便宜的地方，加州食品消费也不
比明州低。
治安，加州好区域和明州整体相似。
生活压力，明州要低的多。
空气质量，明州主要城市比加州强。
工作机会，明州比加州多，Private companies美国前100里有两家，其中一家是美国最
大的。Public companies前100里有5家这些是总部在明州的。还不包括MEDTRONIC，
BOSTON SCENTIFIC这些总部不在明州，但有大量雇员的公司。
Digital State: The Story of Minnesota's Computing Industry 2、3年前出版的一
本书。Silicon Valley和Route 128以外，美国的高科技就在MINNESOTA了。
和美国大多数州不同，明州最大的出口贸易国不是中国，而是德国。
明州唯一不好的是当地没有好学校。
