Opera House, Darling Harbor, Gap and Bondi beach, and the
very big domain and botanic garden. Everything shows us
what a capital city looks like. From this point, it is
quite different from Brisbane. I guess Brisbane may reflect
the classical life environment in Australia, quiet, clean,
not many people, very relaxed life, but not modern.
In my mind, Melbourne is the city combining Sydney and Brisbane.
Quite interesting, aha, hehe.

确实medicare和family assistance office, organ donor register, child immune
system都是关联的
我了解的是,有些防疫针不管是否PR,社区都免费接种,我原来在Mel那个区的city hall
定期给人打针,有个接种卡记录每次打什么
但是后来也就是现在的Syd医院好象接种都收钱,可能是人工费,每次都那么多钱,跟免疫
种类无关,估计这个费用private insurance也不cover
不同地区和不同medi serv provider不同吧
你宝宝多大了?前18个月要很多要打的,找个GP详细咨询一下,咨询费最多50,他可以评估
一下在medicare之前可能产生的医疗费用
另外昨天有人说申请递交后好象就可以medicare,递交申请可以在FBI报告回来之前,所
以你可以尽快办medicare了 |

PhD主要进工业界,发考题或者科研职位大概都是6万5澳大利亚元开始,外加17%的养老金
澳大利亚公司的研发都转到中国或者印度了,不过你这专业可以考虑IBM或者SAP,大概能
要到90K的AUD(9%养老金可能包括在这90K或不包括)
压力肯定小多了,不过墨大世界知名,具体导师可能比较pushy |

的, 结果1) MS没有针对PHD的INTERNSHIP 2)有CITIZEN和PR的限制.... 身份是否在以
后找工作中会有很大阻碍?
我在这个版面看到不少人从美国去澳大利亚读书或者工作, 想知道是什么吸引你们的呢?
不知道在澳大利亚找工作(FACULTY & INDUSTRY )是否也看学校? 我一个原因想转就是
因为现在的学校不行...

一般来说给奖学金就是免学费之外的生活费,现在最低应该有18K,一般有top up,所以即
使你不干TA,也有22K-23K,如果做TA,另外还可以有5K-7K
恩,澳大利亚很多地方和美国不同,不过15K没必要intern了
你老公应该负责打工,另外有学生签证的话,可以打工
等你毕业,身份不是什么问题,除非你现在已经38岁了
来澳大利亚工作的不少,是因为如果做博士后,从待遇或者未来生活的稳定来看,比美国
强,做发考题,可能收入不如美国,但也图个自在轻松,来读书的恐怕还是不多的,特别是
博士,澳大利亚的科技水平还是低的,有些人是因为爱人在这里,不是有个电视剧叫,我在
sydney等你么,书读成哈佛耶鲁,也没一个贴心人重要
不知道你现在学校差到什么地步,要说BIS专业,确实在个非重点院校,没啥意思,从这个
层面来说,来墨大还是值得的,墨大的名声与美国的一流公立相当,实力大概处于
Delaware, Arizona, Georgia等州大水平

UT DALLAS毕业的, 个人觉得PROFESSOR还是蛮厉害, 新的比较NICE, 当然跟GEOGEIA,
ARIZONA这些还是有差距 (当初申请就被拒过). 墨大当初联系是因为在MIS的牛JOURNAL
里面看到澳大利亚这边发的多的也就是墨大了, 所以觉得应该比我现在的好, 但是看了
一下DEPT. OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS, 大牛不多, 愿意带我的, 一个是DR. XXX (
SENIOR LECTURE), 一个是 MR. XXX, 但好象那个MR.XXX (RESEARCH ASSOCIATE) 也有
PHD吧, 但为什么称位不一样呢? 我不太清楚澳大利亚这边怎么区分职位的, 跟美国那
套怎么比较, 能否跟我讲讲?
再有就是看了他们发表的PAPER, 牛JOURNAL的还是少, 而且主要是集中在亚洲或者欧洲
的, 所以对老师实力有点不确定. 我不太清楚怎么看一个系的势力如何.给我感觉大概
跟我现在在的系的老师大概差不多吧... |

另外副导师无所谓的,他可能仅是作为知识面上的补充
前面说了高讲略等于副教授,也就是说他可能还想升,那么他就会认真做研究,对学生也
比较pushy
相对而言呢,其实比教授强
澳大利亚很多教授功成名就了,无所谓了,反正不愁吃不愁喝,还有经费,每年旅游3个月,
指导上未必比高讲或者副教授强
只是教授名气大,发表论文啥的,会便利些,尤其在IS领域,看谁作文写的好,那么跟一个
文坛巨匠比网络文学青年肯定要好的,除非这高讲是韩寒或者郭敬明这个级别的
