前两天看了一些贴子，其中有许多有关车和车，日本品牌和美国品牌，欧洲品牌车的争
论和比较。发现其中许多对比和比较很盲目。很多不具有可比价性，比如说Car 和SUV
那个安全。发现很多人同我以前刚来U.S.时一样, 对车的认识大多都停留在表面上。
在选车对比之前，我想大家应该对不同的车有个大概的了解。这也是我写此文的目的。
希望对于刚来美国并准备选车的人，能有所启发和期到拓展视野的作用。首先声明，本
人未在任何和汽车有关的行业工作，仅出于个人爱好。有不完善之处，希望各位参与讨
论并给于补充。
初到北美时，除了对国内的夏利，桑塔那VW, Audi, Toyota，Cherokee等有点印象外（
当然还有BMW， BENZ等，不过没有机会尝试）。对其它种类的车毫无了解。和很多人一
样，别人讲那一种车好， 自己于是就认为它好；别人说那种车不好， 知己也认为它不

Sports steering wheel是flat bottom的，很好。我发现这个很重要，flat bottom的
确实可以帮助driver更精准的过弯。steering重量适中，没有特别的感觉和surprise。
Suspension的感觉很特别。比S4和335i软一些，但开起来感觉非常solid, 即使过弯有
body roll但也没有觉得很不secure。Mercedes的车真的是很有特色，从关车门的那一
瞬间，就感觉进了银行的保险箱，觉得自己是无比的安全强大，无坚不摧。以前看过一
篇文章，说Mercedes会specially engineer关门的声音，和过bump的声音和feedback。
给人的感觉就是无比的stable和secure。相信喜欢这种感觉的人不少，虽然我更喜欢比
较aggressive的风格。Mercedes本身的stable和secure,再加上AWD的帮助，感觉就更强
烈了。但正是这种非常stable非常secure的感觉，让我觉得这就是perfect的Grand

1. bimmer不在最多的车之列，颠覆我对bimmer车主的印象啊...
2. MB AMG占了十分之三...看来有钱交ticket和请律师也是敢于违规的重要原因
3. Buick占了最少违规的十分三。但是根据IIHS的驾驶员死亡率统计，Buick的几辆车
都名列前茅。看来老头老太们开再慢，身子骨也受不了哪怕一点小车祸
4. Scion 也很牛，和AMG一样占了十分三。再加上Solara，丰田车主nb...

Benz is the #3 of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz in term of global sale volume
(# of cars delivered) in the first 8 months of 2011. Back to 2001, Mercedes
was #1 of the three by large margin. Now it slips to #3.
The average age of buyers of Mercedes is ~54 while it's 48~49 for BMW and
Audi.
I guess it does tell you something about how well Mercedes was received in
the global market. |

Vehicle: 2009 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL450 4dr SUV AWD (4.7L 8cyl 7A)
Will never own a Mercedes again. Non-stop money-pit from the day I bought it
to the day I sold it. Beware the air suspension on Mercedes-Benz. Mine went
"out" every six months or so. Paint peeled off around the windows just when
it was out of warranty. I estimate I spent $6,000 a year in repairs. It is
also a huge gas guzzler.
