女儿说她们现在班上在做一个活动，班上同学分成几个小组乘船周游世界（当然是假装
），每个船上有captain和其他各种角色，老师是XX(teacher's name) Queen of
everything，老师只和Captain说话，我问她为什么，她说老师说She does not talk
to scums。
我一般不会在女儿面前批评老师，但是我觉得这个词不大合适，就问女儿这个词是不是
不太好，女儿说没有那么坏，大概就是指的peasants，当然女儿肯定是有些维护她的老
师的。
我回头查了一下，scum是一个很不好的词。

Realtor给你提供的服务是免费的， 律师给你提供的服务是按小时收费的。 好的律师
在谈判大型commercial lease, exchange, estate, bankruptcy, IRS liens 等等情况
下还是有作用的。 其他买房子的事情， 我每周至少在外边跑30左右个房子，实地看
房子的情况，状况，地理位置，卖主的情况等等，律师都坐在空调屋里拿秒表数钱呢！

要彻底摆脱汉语思维，就应该一切按照native speaker的语言学习方法来进行查字典的
活动。
如果要学的是美式英语，那么最好的步骤是这样：
遇到一个新词，首先查Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary，这是成年美国人
最常用最权威的词典。
如果看不懂解释里的词（非常可能），那么去查Macmillan Dictionary for Students
(MDS)，这是一本80年代出版的为中学生使用的字典，虽然年代有些老，但绝对是同类
字典里质量最好的（本人在译文论坛详细研究过）
如果再看不懂，就要去查Macmillan Dictionary for Children (MDC)，这是美国人给

每次看到有人把“龙”翻译成“Dragon”，或者是把“Dragon”翻译成 “龙”，都觉
得很郁闷和气氛。这完全是两码事吗。

龙者鳞虫之长。王符言其形有九似∶头似牛，角似鹿，眼似虾，耳似象，项似蛇，腹似

口旁有须髯，颔下有明珠，喉下有逆鳞。头上有博山，又名尺木，龙无尺木不能升天。
呵气成云，既能变水，又能变火。(尔雅: 中国最早的词典)
其他的和龙有关的词汇还有很多，其中有：有翅膀的叫应龙（辞源）。但他们都不等同
于龙。
这两个词“Dragon”和“龙”八竿子打不着的。
西方人常将“龙”翻译成“Dragon”，而不是更接近其本意的“Seraphim”。我们可能
