Take a more specific claim as an example. Buddhism claims that mind doesn't
disappear when you die, and it can migrate from life to life carrying over
karma, etc. Mind is theoretically observable, e.g. 他心通，or some
scientific instrument that has yet to be invented. So it's possible to
observe whether mind migrate from life to life at the time of death.
Since science doesn't know what mind is right now, we are far from carrying

For music files, migrate them in iTunes:
0 Open iTunes
1 In the preference, set the music location to the new location
2 File->Library->Consolidate Library.
This will copy the songs to the new location.
For the library, migrate them in the Finder:
1 Copy the library folder, NOT including the song files, to a new location
2 Hold option(alt) key and launch iTunes.

As promised, Apple has shut down the MobileMe web service but is still
allowing users to migrate their data for a "limited time". Apple had been
sending out warnings to users of the impending shutdown.
Apple announced the planned discontinuation of the MobileMe service last
year. Apple expects users to migrate to their iCloud service, though not
all services have been transitioned to the new service. |

发帖数: 5958 | 19 虚拟机之所以流行，是因为几十年的操作系统研发都没有彻底解决隔离机制（isolatio
n)的问题，最后不得不采取虚拟机这种开销相对较大的方法。一般文章和课本中都会谈
到隔离是OS的一项功能，但一般都不会强调现有OS实现存在的问题。如果没有认识到这
一点，就很难理解为什么虚拟机会这么火。隔离是如此重要以至于可以牺牲20%的性能。
目前OS的隔离大致有下面几方面：
1.硬件和软件的隔离。用系统调用API来抽象底层硬件，这样应用程序就不需要考虑不同
厂商的硬件间的区别。理想的情况是只有一个标准的API，但现实是流行的操作系统有3
个，每个又有若干个版本，以至于API兼容性本身成了一个问题。这个问题的解决方法是
虚拟机。较早的尝试是java虚拟机，但是java这语言本身不怎么行，没法一统天下。最
后绕了一圈发现Intel的体系一统天下了，硬件间的差别没有软件的差别大了，于是就有
了虚拟机。跨体系的虚拟，比如IA32和sparc之间，目前还是没法有效实现的。
2. 用户间的隔离，主要是对恶意用户的隔离。一般OS通过给对象（文件，进程等）加用

Application Server。想talk一下migration process。我很早就知道Oracle要用
Weblogic Server来代替Internet Application Server，没想到这么快。
有没有谁大概知道migration process要多少钱，他们的sales person说肯定比新买便
宜，就是不知道便宜多少，这里有没有哪位已经从OAS升到Weblogic Server的？
另外，和OAS比，Weblogic怎么样啊？ |

可以MIGRATE到其他SERVER上就是要解决USER和PERMISSION的问题
这个PLUUGABLE和MIGRATION有啥不同呢，不知道ORACLE一个COPY只
能有一个DB，这也太土了吧 |

新REPORT问题不大，老的要MIGRATE STORED PROC和SSIS PACKAGE，
难度很大的，反正明年两样并存，如果失败再回SQL SERVER去，
公司有钱折腾去，明年出几个新REPORT就算PROJECT成功了，
MIGRATION再说吧。 |

但是前印度人坑爹，做了无数 table 沒 pk，无数 truncate, 甚至 drop recreate
table 的码，amazon data migration 就出问题了。
Amazon 的人建议表都加上 pk。唉 |

最近买了Intel 330 SSD把T60的原装硬盘换了。速度提升那是非常显著的。就算没有发
挥100%的潜能，也是值得的。
另外，如果你用usb硬盘盒装SSD来migrate system的话，intel附带的migration tool
会报错找不到SSD。解决方案是用Acronis True Image Home，国内网站有非trial版本
，你懂的。 |

its own migration tool perfect for its SSD, like 840, EVO, Pro and very easy
to use. Other SSD manufactures should have their own too. |

我原来用partition asistant，Win7没问题，win8搞不定
最近找到这个，Paragon Hard Disk Manager 14 Professional 10.1.21.471 x64，里
面有个os migration的专门功能，迁移win8.1非常顺利 （GPT的HDD迁移到小容量的mbr
Ssd)，基本一键完成，迁移完了Ssd性能很好，没有对齐的问题。
他这个os migration其实有个专门的小软件，但是找不到最新的和谐版，只好找专业的
大套件，里面的系统迁移非常好用。 |

程运行的。
migration是需要时间的，以后语言新特性都不会在python2里出现， 包括native
async， 这样新用户就都会直接用3了。SOA也能使migration更简单， 新代码直接用

Won't blame Netflix. LinkedIn itself had big problem migrating from 0.7 to 0
.8, almost same issue.
Many orgs chose not to face the same issue how to rollout something
horizontally without nontrivial effort from each stack. Luckily we don't
have this problem. Both 0.7 project and 0.8 migration happening smoothly
without much work from the dec teams, almost completely done by a 2-person
team. |
