作为小黄人，经常有别的族裔的人给我好处。比如昨天去超市买地中海式小菜，我要半
磅，一个黑人大哥非常热情，给我拿了个一磅的盒，称好了半磅，从秤上拿下来，又多
加了两大勺。虽然是微不足道的好处，但很温暖人心。这种事情我遇到过多次，各个族
裔男女都有。周围邻居也很友好。不远处一家有个年轻白牛teenager，每次见到我都很
热情地打招呼聊两句。公司里面的同事上级绝大多数也非常友好。有什么事也很帮忙。
所以在这种环境里人的心态也变得很mild。

曾经合作过的一个印度哥们回硬度的IIT去做助理教授去了，竭力鼓动我申请他现在所
的一个位置。
待遇： 工资好像每月800美元左右，有免费的公寓(两室一厅)，小孩教育免费，英语教育
不好的一面当然是印度的卫生环境等等，还有生活习惯的差异了。不过那哥们说每个
IIT都有自己独立的campus，像一个独立王国一样，就像巴格达的green zone和其他地
方的区别

天气不错，一大早到办公室，打开信箱一看，这一天的心情估计被毁了...
收到博士期间一个小老板的来信，问某项实验的一些细节，我马上意识到他们已经开始
动手我们讨论过的一个想法...
博士毕业后换了地方做博后，但是还跟以前的组有很多联系，也经常回去做实验。我有
一个想法，曾经跟以前所在组的一个小老板讨论过。这个想法实现的可能性很大，比较
有意思。我们基本达成君子协定，等我回国后就开始做，部分原料由这个小老板提供。
我已经基本敲定国内一所学校，可能近期回国。我寄托很大的希望在那个idea上。准备
回国就马上开始下手。
但是从今天这个小老板的来信中，我已经他们已经准备动手自己做了。可能是新来的一
个博士后，雄心仆仆的准备自己干...
小老板的来信中问一些实验细节，其实也不难，我不说他们也应该能摸索出来。关键是
这个心理很TM失落。

17年1月：正式报道。

笔钱给我们这个专业，要double现有的教师队伍。这笔钱捐的时候指明中生代的女教授
优先，因此这个朋友就想到我家领导，希望她能去尝试一下。我和领导讨论了一下，决
定有枣没枣打一个杆子。就准备了一份简历寄了过去。
今年(2016)元月初的时候这个学校回信说邀请家里领导来访问一下(由于邀请的人很多都
是其他学校的教授，属于挖角，所以不用面试这个词)。于是我们就开始好好准备。准备

蛋糕体原料（以下配方可做10寸圆模蛋糕一个）：
1. 1又3/4 Cup all-purpose flour。 （250ml的量杯）
2. 1又1/2 teaspoons double acting baking powder。（1teaspoon 5毫升。此处请注
意使用double acting的泡打粉，而非普通baking powder。double acting baking
powder在walmart就能买到）

发帖数: 6126 | 45 来美国之前，薯条妈对奶酪的认识非常有限，一个来自乳酪蛋糕，一个来自pizza。而
且对于制作pizza的奶酪，无非觉得那种可以拉丝的奶酪很有趣，以及吃之前撒的那种
芝士粉，很香很好吃~
来了美国，学校里举行各样活动前后所提供的点心里，常常可以见到各种奶酪的身影。
开始的时候只知道根据颜色来区别，可是没过多久就发现不对，即使是同样的颜色，可
是香气，味道和口感的差异都很大，有些非常好吃，有些则很不习惯。吃货的好奇心立
马就被勾起来了，之前不是提过那会儿经常看Food network的各种Cooking show么？特
别让我感兴趣的，一个就是各种香草料的作用，这已经在薯条爹写的《草本篇（上）》
和《草本篇（下）》中提到过了。另一个关注的重点，就是不同奶酪的各种区别。真可
谓不学习不知道，一学习吓一跳，原来奶酪可以有如此多的讲究！品种之丰富，口味之
多样化，让人大开眼界。这边很多出售奶酪的商店都会提供免费试吃的机会，不仅可以
尝试各种不同品种的奶酪，那些热情的服务员还很乐意跟顾客聊有关奶酪的各种话题，
非常长见识~因为可以试吃，所以也不用担心买一大块不好吃的奶酪回家这么些年吃下

How do you eat an avocado? It’s pretty easy. Slice it open, from pole to
pole, cutting around the pit. Remove this pit. Top with whatever you want,
then eat with a spoon. No cooking is necessary or recommended. The avocado

this greater recession for 1-1/2 years now.
IMHO, last time the market drops too early before the recession because the
bubble was too big (look at the valuation compared to this one) so that you
get a much longer bear market than then recession.
This time things are different. The market respond too mildly and too late
in the 10/2007-09/2008 period. When we are 1-1/2 years within the recession,
