国内媒体报道模范人物时，常用的形容词就是忘我工作到了“带病坚持”的程度。
在美国你会发现，生命是第—位的，生病就应该休息，带病坚持工作是对自己不负责任
的表现，对自己都不能负责任的话怎么指望你对他人或工作负责任?
再说你流感什么的还可能有传染性。医生都会告诉你要呆在家里，需要自我隔离多久之
后才能去公共场所，这是公共道德，是对社会负责任的表现。
2、汽车洋房是生活必须品．不是富人才有
在美国说到买房，基本指的是买独立房。也就是国人嘴里的别墅。这个基本就是普通民

当年我在美国结了婚租公寓只能找到两居室的，考虑到比一居室贵不了多少，也就租了
下来。没过几天，一位白人女同学也是刚做了新娘不久，她丈夫毕业去外地工作了，她
老板不让她毕业，需要完成一个试验，她觉得用不了一年了，便跟我老婆谈是不是可以
跟我们分享一下公寓，她实在租不到一寝室的公寓了，算是给她一个方便，也许半年也
许十个月。我们不能不帮忙啊，就答应了下来。她的名字叫垂斯，非常善良的基督徒。
她的善良与柔和是我开始有时间就读圣经的起因。好在她从不给我压力去教堂，非常耐
思的一个女孩。我们可以说无话不谈，也跟她学会了如何用烤箱烤制食物，就是做西餐
。每天晚饭就坐在一起吃，边吃边聊。只要我们需要了解美国的人情世故，她都会热情
讲解。我们从未发生过哪怕一点点不愉快的事。留在记忆里难以忘记的时光，虽然只有
