DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars have signed center Mike Modano to a one-year
contract extension. Modano's contract was set to expire after the upcoming
season.
The 33-year-old Modano, who was named team captain after defenseman Derian
Hatcher signed with the Detroit Red Wings in July, played in 79 games last
season for the Stars and registered 28 goals and 57 assists.
A 14-year veteran, Modano has played in 1,025 regular-season contests and has
recorded 444 |

him as one of the best offensive players in the league. I am still clearly
remembering Modano single-handedly killed Avalanche in 1999 and 2000. Have to
mention Theo Fleury when talking about Mike Modano. what a turnaround!
