TORONTO (Reuters) - Early data suggests Canadian consumers are spending more
this Christmas than last year, but experts say the surprisingly large gains
may not hold through to the end of the crucial holiday shopping season.
From November 25 to December 19, consumer spending, including travel and
entertainment as well as retail, rose 4.6 percent over last year, according
to data released on Thursday by card payment processor Moneris Solutions.

据加拿大信用卡与扣账卡处理机构莫内里斯良策（Moneris Solutions）周四公布研究
数据显示，冬奥期间，温哥华市与威斯勒市消费数字较去年同期飙升48%，其中小型企
业的生意更成为「金牌得主」。
经营者早作准备该公司销售与市场推广部高级副总裁亚德斯（David Ades）解释，除了
因游客增加之外，本地的经营者也早有准备，包括调整及延长营业时间、增加存货、添
置设施与仪器以及增聘人手等。
莫内里斯公司公布的调查结果还包括：
‧纪念品销售量相等于去年同期的5倍（增幅373%）；酒吧营业转账量则上升1.3
倍；
‧与去年同期比较，男女服装销售量上升98%；
‧国外游客占冬奥整体销售额22%；
‧加国国民仍是冬奥最大「豪客」，占总销售额的78.4%，而邻国美国仅占9.15%
；
‧国外游客方面，中国人消费力最强，占3.5%，平均每次转账额为423元。俄罗斯
游客占1.37%，平均每次花费236元，日本人则名列第3（1.37%），平均每次交易额89元
。
