比如这个
"应该还够不上诺贝尔奖吧，除非能有巨大的应用价值。这只是模拟的磁单极，并不是粒
子物理里面所说的GUT能标上的基本磁单极子。这个发现当然是很有突破性的，不过技术
意义大过理论意义。

很高兴朱棣文利用全球变暖来诳骗中国的骗局眼看就要破产了, 可惜到中国白忽悠了一阵子.
美国物理学会成员认为现在美国政治在"全球变暖"上的立场是和在智力和道德上都极其缺乏的研究相关,是危言耸听。 这等于是在扇OBAMA和朱棣文的巴掌.
他们在信中提出了一种替代性声明，认为是更准确地反映当前的科学证据。他们要求，在建立科学的过程中，需要排除政治或财政的干扰，以防止颠覆科学进程和在气候问题研究中采取不容忍科学异议的态度。

文章没太大的问题，但不应该没有提到anthropic principle。我们居住的宇宙，正好
是10的500次方那么多个宇宙里面少数几个运气好，宇宙常数刚刚好可以产生生命的宇
宙的可能，也不完全是零.必须承认anthropic principle确实名声不好，不那么"
elegant".老爱好在死得早，否则一定会怀疑人生。
传统物理一向需要实验来验证理论，一直到相对论和量子力学建立的那几十年也是如此
。不过实验跟不上理论是迟早要发生的事情，正好我们赶上了。按我们现在的能力，你
总不能拿黑洞来做实验吧，就算做个地球直径一般大的加速器，离模拟宇宙开始普朗克
尺度也还差十几个数量级。这个时候是不是不能用实验来验证的理论就一定是玄学不是
科学，不是有正确可能的理论，那就难说得很了。
我倒是觉得也许我们应该等华大基因或其它机构研究发现到底哪些基因决定智商，然后
用crisper技术改造超级天才来发现新一代物理理论，可行的机会更大。毕竟目前研究

己先遁了。回到自己家乡捷克，也不知道最近以什么为生。
一直挺喜欢他的博客的，他在物理上也确实挺sharp的，经常在博客上打击物理民科和
各色民科。 可是张的结果出来后，这厮发了一个博客说，“最近张益唐的孪生素数猜
想突破， 我不认为有多了不起，我还是更关心黎曼猜想，今天大家都来帮我看看这篇
文章，我知道这篇宣称证明黎曼猜想的文章有错，但是我到现在还没有发现那儿错了。
” 我点进去看那篇宣称证明黎曼猜想的文章，原来是一个中国民科的文章，发在欧洲
的一个民科杂志，有三四页长，用的是最基本的围道积分，最后文献就是一个，那个
Serge的复分析教科书。
我当是就觉得这厮怎么自己也变民科了，品味怎么这么差了。看了一下博客评论，有人
果然说了， “Lubos, 你一直打击物理民科，怎么这次自己也成数学民科？”，这厮到
消费起张益唐了，说，“我一贯思想开放的，比如张这次也是仅用初等方法（

those most talented string theorist, like Minwana, Motle.. (it is more like
a post doc). But it is way much harder to get the tenure position at Harvard
. This should also be true for princeton and mit.
I heard a rumor when witten applied the job at harvard, geogia denied him
although witten has already done a lot of very good work.
Hope Yin Xi can finally get the tenure position at harvard. |
