Northern Mockingbird是德克萨斯及其他四个州的州鸟。Wikipedia的中文页把它叫小
嘲鶇。其实叫它德州百灵鸟更贴切。这种鸟模仿力超强，可以唱出多达200种歌，能学
叫其它鸟类，昆虫甚至两栖动物。它们的婚配跟人类差不多: 一夫一妻,从一而终。八
年前，俺家后院来了这么一对百灵鸟小俩口，在俺家的玫瑰丛里筑了爱巢，产下了四个
卵:
不知是啥原因，它们竟然弃下未孵出的四个娃娃，远飞他乡. 俺见它们多日未归，就把
它们的娃娃收留了。俺是个半文盲的农民，哪里懂啥孵鸟娃娃。突发奇想，来了这么一
个砖头孵鸟法:
两个星期过后，一点动静都没有。唉，这四个鸟蛋八成是被烤熟了，终究没能破壳跑出
四只小鸟来...现在回想起来怪可惜的。

再联想他们平时的行为，就知道Mourning Dove是多么的懒散。我家后院树上，他打的
窝，鸟蛋掉地上了他都不知道。LOL |
