t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 1 Planned to have a short test run on treadmill the new
MT20. To be cautious, original plan was 3mi@5mph, ultra
low speed/HR.
5mph did not need to worm up. Jump up on the treadmill
and start jogging. It was extremely comfortable and felt
so easy, easier than ever.
After 30min, still felt great, and started [email protected], my
LHR training speed. Still very very easy, no heel pain
or knee pain during entire hour. In fact, I run till 6miles.
By the way, this was my last 5.5mph LHR run. I will move to
6mph... 阅读全帖 |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 3 Went to a NB store today, and tried MT110, MT10, and MT20.
Looks like MT10 and MT20 are too narrow for me (they only
have D in store). But same size MT110 felt great as my other
NB shoes.
Here are my questions:
How large are the heel-to-toe drops of MT110 and MT20?
How long does it last (in miles)?
Is MT20 sole supposed to be better?
The guy told me that MT110 could last 700 miles or so,
not because the sole wears out but the upper part will
break. Is this true? |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 4 Just got my MT20 trail running shoes:) One full size
larger than my other shoes. The NB store girl was not
happy for this, because she said it was supposed to be tighter
fit and no socks - my regular size MT20 is just too narrow,
and they do not have wide in store. I guess I should go 1/2 size
larger wide for perfect fitting. Hope this piece of info can
help others in ordering.
MT20 feels very comfortable, like the very comfortable trail
running 572, which is the best fit to my feet.
Will test M... 阅读全帖 |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 5 I got heel pain from soft and thick sole (maybe combined with high
heel-to-toe drop) running shoes. Now I wear MT20 everyday for
walking and running (black version for work, orange version for running).
MT20 is really comfortable.
Decided to use HS4 for speed work on pavement. MT20 feels thin, can
easily feel small stones. I may need some months to toughen my feet
up using MT20.
Wave universe indeed feels great. Also have two pairs of inov-8
minimalist shoes, very thin sole, but very comfortable... 阅读全帖 |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 6 MT20 is not very 耐磨. One pair of mine started to show bad
wear between 300-400 miles running on concrete road (side
walks). But it is still fine over 500 miles. I am still 25LB
over my ideal body weight. This might be a factor for shoe
wearing.
MT20 is very under-cushioned on road. On trails are perfect.
Too much cushioning can make me heal pain and tired quicker.
So I prefer to get my feet strong to fit MT20.
The pair you linked is the winter version. Regular version is
more breathable for warm... 阅读全帖 |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 7 Received Mizuno Wave Universe 4 (got fever contamination from
the other wolf). They feel great, very very lightweight and
comfortable. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than my MT20, perfect
fitting. They are also very soft and very flexible, while MT20
shoes feel more sturdy and heavier (they are for trail running).
Very happy for Universe 4. |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 8 I used HS4 for a 8-mile "long run" for the first time last evening
in HS4.
It took me 1:05 to finish it. My fastest long run so far. Earlier,
I used to finish the same route 1:20-1:25 for LHR using MT20.
The biggest difference about the shoes is the cushioning - I was
able to and dare to run fast down hills because HS4 has very good
cushioning for road. But my feet are not tough enough for faster
pace on road in MT20 yet. There were two more factors contribute to my
yesterday fast pace: I had re... 阅读全帖 |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 9 My first pair of MT20, about 300mi on road, almost wore out.
Is this normal? Will road running shoes last longer on road?
Or because I am over weight?
I read in this board that big bulls wear out a pair of shoes
in 700mi or even over 1000mi.
I still have 4 pairs of regular MT20. If wear-tear keeps the
same, they will retire in a year or so. Running is also an
expensive sport! |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 11 New Balance MT20 shoes have strong reflections (the
big "N"). The MT20 winter model has reflections
on back of shoe as well. Other racing models should
also have these feature.
Also saw some other brand shoes with reflections
Saucony Hotteri shoes are very bright in the darkness,
might because of some special dyes. This is true at
least for the green color, the one I have used so far.
New Balance also have shirts with reflection strips.
Some shirts have reflection strips on arms and back
as well... 阅读全帖 |

我有双MT20,跑长了膝盖疼,闲置在家了。。。 |

我今天右脚掌走路时很酸,总算体会到足弓减震了。。。 |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 14 What are the differences? Do they last long? |
|
c*******r 发帖数: 13580 | 15 大致看了一下,似乎区别不大.20的鞋面似乎少了一点约束。 |
|
t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 16 Thanks. Do they have zero heel-to-toe drop?
What are other similar shoes? Are they good for
road? |
|
c*******r 发帖数: 13580 | 17 they feel like 0 drop to me. they are pretty similar to 5 fingers, without
separated fingers. I have run about 100 miles in them, including treadmill,
gravel trails, and asphalt trails. I haven't had a chance to try them on
technical trails yet though. I have done a 12 miler on a asphalt trail and
they worked great. |

Where is a good place to buy them? I wear 9.5 or 10,
will the size be similar to other NB shoes? |

However, I bought MT20 instead, because I worry about
its upper. |
|
t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 29 I ordered MT20, then will try Saucony (in fact,
the NB store guy secretly recommended it). After
knowing MT00 from pager, I may try it as well.
Will try Altra later. Really wish that I had known
MT00 earlier. It'll take quite some mileage/time
to wear out the shoes I have.
Good news is that my body weight went down 5LB again.
So my mileage (speed) will ramp up. But less body
weight may result in less shoe wear and tear. |

if used for long road runs? I am using MT20, longest
road run is ~15 miles, no trail run yet.
Do people use trail shoes for HM or FM? What are the
advantages of using road shoes over trails for them? |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 38 I see. Thanks!
Just ordered 2 pairs of HS4 for road (originally
planned to use MT20). |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 39 After morning run of 1 hour for ~6.5 miles one the road.
Used to run ~6mph for LHR, but HRM was lose, so just run at
very comfortable pace.
Also used new MT20 Winter version. As always, NB shoes are
very comfortable, no need to break-in. |

t*******f 发帖数: 2634 | 40 The reward coupon expires in May from Finishline.
Wondering how to spend it. Have MT00, MT110,
NB 730 (the new release of this month) in my mind.
What I have:
7 pairs of MT20
2 pairs of HS4 just ordered from RW
2 pairs of NB 572 trail shoes (extremely comfortable)
2 pairs of Asics Endura trail shoes
Looks like I do not have light-weight 'thick' shoes for
long run.
Please give some recommendations. Or what else can I buy
from finishline? I have more than enough clothing already.
Thanks! |

After 30 minutes of warming up, I headed to the back path
where there is a ~1mi relatively straight and flat segment.
It is mostly slightly downhill to the east. This was my
first run attempt. GPS watch run out of battery, so use my
Timex for timing only. Since no HRM, so decided to run just
run. The HS4 shoes felt very well cushioned, light, and
no slippery at all. This is in contrast to my MT20 which
