The killer whale is actually a dolphin. :-)
Atlas is an immortal and you could call him a God. But God in Greek
mythology has narrower meanings. Only Zeus and his buddies are Gods. A
titan is a God elderly, the parent generation of Gods. In another word,
Atlas is not a God in greek mythology. It is kinda funny that Atlas is the
son of a Titan. Somehow, he is not a God but Zeus is a God. In our time, we
call all deities Gods.

Dialectics of Nature是一种Metaphysics：不讲道理、只讲逻辑--你必须首先承认一
切事物由所谓内因外因决定，然后才能分析。阴阳论有点类似于Dialectics，不过阴阳
论不是很讲逻辑(metaphysics的根本)，所以我说它更类似于mythology。
类似的理论从古到今，以不同的面目，各个文明都有。是人类的一种本能。例如古埃及
人认为事物分两类：能解释的一类，由数学和逻辑解释；不能解释的一类(magic)由四
大元素决定--Heka、Rw、Pekhret、Seshaw。其中Heka来自太阳，是个很牛的概念，类

于看完了《潘的迷宫》。果然不负好评，是这些年来难得一见的好片。(以下争取在最
大音量抒情之下不spoil情节，~~好困难呀*_*)
对西班牙电影的印象，好像就停留在几年前阿尔莫多瓦大叔那五颜六色的水彩众生相那
里了。再加上trailer里对这个片子的介绍比较偏魔幻一些，直到开演前都一直都很轻
松（另外，今天进影院有点晚，所以是从黑色背景加1944白色字幕那里看起的，看过的
人会明白什么意思。），英文片名还总让人想到peter pan。其实这里的Pan，是Roman
Mythology里的Faun，Pan是Greek Mythology里的译名。（Pan是田野之神，一般都以人
身羊腿的形象出现，好像还顺便管管收获呀庆祝什么的。）
时间，1944年，地点，西班牙，处于佛朗哥(Franco)的白色统治下的。女孩名字叫奥菲
莉亚（Ofelia）（hmm，难道是哈姆雷特老婆名字的西语版？），爸爸是个裁缝，在战

题，也是一个政治学问题，决定希腊和罗马文明的崛起和衰落这些历史事件背后的规律
以及在制度上的成败得失，是近代西方政治哲学所非常关注的问题之一。Machiavelli
的最重要的著作(不是最著名的著作，但我个人认为是他份量 最重– 不管是按重量计
算还是按重要性和深度计算 - 的一部著作)Discourses on Livy（《论李维》这部书在
国内已经有译本了，豆瓣上查到一个版本由上海人民出版社出版，不知翻译质量如何）
针对Livy罗马史的前十卷，对罗马早期历史进行了研究，并提出了共和制度的核心机制
：遏制与平衡（check and balance）。也就是今天我们常常挂在嘴边的制衡。
我们同时也分析了罗马早期历史的史料来源，指出了古典罗马历史学家在这方面的可信
度。这样讲，也就意味着我在这个系列读书笔记里将努力（其实也是Rostovtzeff在写
罗马这本书的时候所坚持的理念）把传说（mythology）从历史叙述中尽量剔除。于是

发帖数: 5581 | 47 对于罗马来说，前7世纪以前把准字去掉差不多吧。早期大家都这样啊。不过到了城市
的形成，尤其是Latins和Sabines融合形成罗马的基本盘的时候，就超越部落的阶段了
。Etruscan到前6世纪显然不止是部落级别的，至少有12个比较大的城市，即所谓的
Dodecapoli。Etruria已经超越部落或是部落联盟的水平，大概对应现在像是邦联的架
势。国家和国家（或是城邦）的交往已经有一定之规，可以称为外交了。而且外交上有
一定约束力的习俗也可以认为是国际法的雏形。Etruria的规模和文明发展的水平是有
大量考古发掘支持的。夏朝的考古发现，现在还没到那个程度呢。Livy对于前四世纪以
前的叙述，可以看作是半历史半mythology。细节上不可信是对的，大致形势发展并不
全是臆想，和考古发现对照还是有一定意义的。完全的虚无自然是不可取。我觉得夏朝
也未必就是虚无，还是看考古发现吧。 |
