发帖数: 321 | 6 switch vs router 这种烂坑真是屡试不爽。其实在90年代末router根本是个贬义词。
记得当初一个3COM的SE对6500很鄙视:“别拿路由器和我们的L3 Switch一块比”。彼时
PFC还没有出来，6500上只能用MSM+MLS来实现三层功能。Switch时髦到各个厂家都要在
产品上标注Switch, 比如GSR里面那个S就是Switch/Switching，因为Switching表达了
硬件实现，高速，而Routing则是软件实现，低速。
但是如果看看ISO/OSI，压根就没有Switching的地位，L2功能实际是Bridging。
Switching的含义其实和Fowarding在本质上也没什么区别，是网络层次上的Bridging/
Routing等行为在设备中内化的动作。所以我们可以看到WAN Switching, LAN
Switching, Label Switching, L2/3/4/7 Switching（当然电话交换机这个Switch的滥
