Thank you for sending in your opinion about Newscripts. C&EN has always
given Newscripts writers broad latitude in topic choices—more so than in
cover and department articles—all in the spirit of fun. Jean-Francois
Tremblay’s April 12 piece about China’s population, however, might have
pushed the envelope a bit too far, and as you point out, it should have been
more related to science.
