我在洛杉矶，这边的能见度总体来讲比国内要好，但是呼吸道过敏的人很多很多。美国
人把这个认为是花粉过敏，但是事实上如果查一下该类疾病的发病记录就可以发现，70
年代之前鲜有人得这个病。
事实上70年代是洛杉矶空气污染最为严重的时期，著名的洛杉矶烟雾，是大气化学研究
中的重要课题，到现在也是。
相比国内各大工业城市以含硫煤燃烧引发的大气污染（这也有个名字：伦敦型烟雾），
洛城的空气污染主要是含氮氧化物所至。因为这种微粒不比硫化物那样对大气中的水那
么有亲和力，所以微粒不会在大气中生长得很大，因此基本上不会影响到城市的能见度
（要知道，干净的空气中也必须要有一定含量的各种微粒的，这些微粒对降水的形成非
常重要）。 但是氮氧化物在强烈的太阳照射下，会形成强氧化性的臭氧或者原子氧，
这才是呼吸道疾病的真凶！

今天，我非常震惊地发现，1946年《远东国际军事法庭判决书》（International
Military Tribunal for the Far East Judgment）网上居然有英语全文，那可是1500
页的文件啊。
我从不知道，这么重要的第二次世界大战的文件，网上居然可以轻易找到！国内媒体好
像从来没有宣传过这件事。我查了国家图书馆的数据库，发现这个文件很可能没有出版
过中译本。我不知道台湾是否出过中译本，当年南京政府应该有中文版的。
我对这个事情很不理解。
这是第一手的历史原件，历史价值就不用说了，对于爱国主义教育和揭露日本军国主义
的罪行，都有巨大的价值。可是，为什么大家都不知道呢？这是公共领域的材料，没有

BEIJING (AFP) -- Riots in China's ethnically divided Xinjiang region on
Wednesday left 27 people dead, according to state media which said police
opened fire on "knife-wielding mobs".
It was the deadliest spasm of violence to hit the troubled western region
since 2009. Xinjiang is about twice the size of Turkey and is home to around
10 million members of the mostly Muslim Uighur ethnic minority.
