Check your contract, oftentimes you can get your money back minus the hourly rate charged hours that you have talked/emailed/phoned with him/her.
If there's no such clause, this lawyer might be a run-away-after-first-payment kind of bad lawyer, and you'd better cut the loss now, rather than later.

seen on this board, and I don't know the sure answers.
Well, I see that oftentimes the 485 is approved a week from the RFE is
received. So your 485 will soon be approved.
This RFE could be that they want to see your new offer letter. That's very
easy to respond. Only you know the difference in your work, but to an
outsider, they may appear to be all the same in a certain field.

one of them gets denied, it means that the other one is approved.
If it's only the EAD that's got denied, but not one of the 485's, then
perhaps it's due to some policy on EAD.
Just wait for a few more days to see what's the deal. Still, given the
timing, I really think that your case is very likely to have been approved. |

this. A couple hundreds of dollars would be a very worthwhile investment.
Oftentimes the chance of auditing on self-petitions is higher than on the
cases with tax experts' help, since the IRS assumes that individuals are not
familiar with the tax laws and are prone to make mistakes. The IRS knows
what red flags to look for, complexity is one item there. |

longer. But if your 485 is approved before EAD/AP, your EAD/AP will be
rejected as you don't need them any more with a green card in hand.
I heard that in the old days, missing the medical exam form would only call
for an RFE, but I heard some ID say that missing this form now could cause a
direct rejection of 485. However, I don't know whether it's true or not,
nor do I personally believe it.

Golf is such a fickle game. There are so many unknowns. Besides of the
outside factors, your capability is not constant at all. Oftentimes you don
't know if your swing is there for the next shot. Your opponent could play

have.
