发帖数: 58 | 1 本人学习OPNET有3年多了，自己也搭建过几个比较大的仿真模型（从物理层到应用层）
，在OPNET的学习上积累了一些经验，也指导过实验室的师弟师妹们学习OPNET。个人觉
得OPNET已经是网络仿真工具里面比较容易上手的，只要方法正确，努力一点，一个月
的时间都可以上手。本人在当时学习OPNET的时候没有人指导，没有一本中文书，当时
会OPNET的也相当之少，更别说去论坛问问题了。我完全靠读OPNET几千页的英文帮助上
手，大概花了3个月才上手。个人觉得OPNET的帮助写的相当的好，确实不愧几万美金的
软件。个人总结的学习步骤其实很简单，大家觉得有用可以借鉴一下：
1、学习不要指望看中文资料，首先要认真的学习英文的OPNET帮助里面的General
Tutorials。（以OPNET 10.0.A为例）必须边看边做！Tutorials里面的3部分，Basic
Lessons的前5节必须做，Modeler Lessons的前4节必须做，第3部分可以先不作，以上
各小节，边做边归纳，可以保证大家对OPNET整个建模的了解。
2、现在开始练兵了，不要指望马上进入你要做的模型，也不要太急，盲 |

我用OPNET写仿真主要是因为实验室有LICENSE，而且有用OPNET仿真的传统。别的原因

很多好餐\厅 地点非常推!!
他们每年都会开很大的tutorial session
他们卖的产品很多是卖给network planner
或是军方等等
像他们就有3D的computer graphics model,用来做model很fancy
如果是做网路的人,都知道opnet 另外一个相似的产品是qualnet
但学校通常是用免钱的ns-2或ns-3,当然没有前两者好用
所以公司名字其实在网路界是很大的 |

，因为他所在产品的市场很窄，所以确实是属于饿不死的，但是也很难再壮大。做网络
这块的话，是个不错的选择，只要搞网络的人，还是蛮认这公司的。他的产品主要卖给
各路网络供应商以及银行啥的，还有军方，进去的话能学到很多东西，但是出了网络这
个领域，估计就没啥人听过了。 |

不过你要看一下Metro到你公司是不是你走路Ok的距离
住的话Bethesda是非常贵的区,你可以往北住到Metro北边的Rockville(华人超多)或是
再往北一点点 或是其他metro可到的地方也可 然后搭metro.
网路的话 他的市场比较小众 不像Cisco可以甚么产业都通吃
他只能卖个network planner/researcher
但是也饿不死 现在市场上也就两三个player
我对这公司并没有认识人 不熟内部到底是怎样 但我觉得就是网路业
应该做了一阵之后对网路protocol就会很熟
好不好的话看你未来规画
如果你不是做网路的想转做网路 这样倒是不错的机会
但现在做网路 比较没有爆发性了 (晚生了十多年 遇到之前的.com就会发了)
现在比较红的是big data. 如果你有big data的机会 我觉得去那行比较好 |

作做一做 以后再说 是不是基于大公司对new grad的照顾 以后想跳就更难了

約末兩年前在DC區的有經驗ee碩士(馬上可以上手做事的)拿個八九萬也有
所以我感覺75k應該也是ok啦
但如果說是博士 那就是太低了..
我覺得做網路就是需求一直都在 就跟database一樣產業一直有需求 以後要轉電信或是
無線產業也都可以 |

那我的建議是找個公司肯花時間讓你好好練程式
很多EE朋友 不管是本來學的是偏物理還是其他 找了工作都在寫程式
因為寫程式的工作真的比EE的工作好找多了
至於提到的digmap.com公司 我看了一下是做GIS(地理資訊系統的)
這是對地圖的加值資訊 跳進去做的話一定很有趣 因為這東西應該不光只是coding
而是對domain knowledge的也有一定的需要(就是需要幾個領域的人一起合做做東西)
原波要是喜歡刺激 又覺得年輕可以衝一下 看起來倒是很不錯 |

滥人。当然每个人无论优劣总会有个位置，所以这也是该学校存在的理由。
每个人都不干预现状，学校也是如此。于是痛定思痛，决定集中兵力，打算在在几个点
取得小小突破，于是某年我系开始了其博士培养计划。一般公司起步的时候，招人都是
没有那么苛刻，学校也是如此。为了凑足名额，只要有人愿来，立马接受。
于是这个老黑从这儿读完master,顺利进入phd。这个老黑是典型的非洲人，乐观，热情
，智力一般，但是还很自信。前一段时间结婚并获得绿卡。没事就爱拿出来亮亮。然后
偷偷告诉我，是三年的contract,也不知真假，并再三强调不要告诉任何人。结果过了
不久，发现他又得意告诉另一个同学，呵呵。
该人研究课题是IDS,算得上一个作得很滥但是也很难的方向，而且需要不少编程。但是
他属于就翻过两天c语言书的人,但仿真工具是opnet（基于c/c++）.于是他号称苦学三
个月编程，同时要求老板送到opnet公司作了一周培训。然后踌躇满志的搭建好了他的
FSM（后来我发现原来就是copy了一些代码，然后冠上相关名字）。于是问题出来了， |

我本科是通信的,做的都是网络的算法,比如你说的sensor network,还发了篇水文.用
opnet做的仿真.
但我现在所在的组里都是做光通信物理层的,就是你说的靠很多仪器做实验的那种,师兄
些很多都是本科光电毕业的. 我自己不太喜欢做这种实验,而且觉得做实验受仪器限制
太大,以后找工作肯定不如做网络好找.做网络的至少还有点数理基础和编程经验. 所以
我现在就一个人做光网络的算法,做simulation. 我现在的老板主要的强项毕竟还是在
做光通信的物理层方面,所以研究方面我基本全靠自己了,老板人不错,至少支持我一个
人瞎搞. 最近也投了篇paper,也慢慢冒出一些idea了. 不过基于家庭和兴趣的原因,我
还是准备换个地方读phd了,以后还是想找个更合适的组做网络.我一个人做研究还是很
累的,平时开组会好像就我一个人比较孤独.
楼主做optical burst switch的话,可以看看这个仿真的软件,基于ns2的.
