2) this is probably the nicest part of faculty life -- quiet and free.
if you want to socialize with people, i'm sure there are numerous opportunit
ies on campus (even within the department) -- just serve on those committees
. the thing is actually you cannot afford that waste of time.
teamwork in the private sector is not that fun, especially when peer pressur
e and politics are involved.
just tough it out.

Very good high school (East Side high), cheap house, quite large Chinese
faculty and student community in a college town. Three Chinese grocery
stores. Very nice ppl. The Phillips center always have great shows. Great
football and basketball games. also though I'm not a christian, I kind of
like the baptists there.
It's also easy for your wife to find a job at UF if she choose to.
Downside is you don't have a lot of other career opportunites, plus the

之后经理还管我要了我Ph.D.期间发的几篇paper的PDF files。后来经理问了我prefer哪
几天onsite面试。上个星期的某一天，小秘给我email，直接就发了onsite interview的
机票行程，问我是否合适，我回复yes，她又说要给我订一天的hotel和租车，我又回复
了感激之情。然而，5个小时之后，她的又一封email直接给我泼了一大盆凉水：她说我
的travel request她提交上去了，但是has come under scrutiny by our Controller
& HR，因此她无法继续为我的interview来make travel了，出于cost constraints和bu
dget freeze的problem，她和经理都apologize for this mishap。看了之后虽然很郁闷
，但我依然立刻回email，说这是我的dream company，so this interview opportunit
