NEW YORK (Reuters) - New Jersey voters are split on whether to legalize gay
marriage, but more people now oppose it than support it, a poll found on
Wednesday.
The Quinnipiac University survey found 49 percent of voters oppose a law

自从一九八○年代中期以来,笔者有机会在数所大学和研究院里任教、作研究或参与短
期学术交流项目。这些大学和研究院分别属于三个华人社会——香港、中国大 陆和台
湾,及两个西人社会——美国和澳大利亚。本文便是基于我在这些教育和学术机构里讲
解社会理论和比较社会学时对学生的观察和思考。在行文讨论中,我会 作两个层次上
的比较:把华人学生与西方学生进行比较,和把不同华人社会里的学生进行比较。前一
层次上的比较有助于凸现在非西方社会及文化背景下成长起来的 华人学生,在接受西
方社会科学过程中遭遇的一系列特定的困难。后一层次上的比较则有助于我们更仔细及

3月5日晚间11点,护士唤醒我,说老公的血压在持续下降,很可能剩下的时间不多了。
我打电话让朋友把三个孩子带进来,和他们爸爸告别,让朋友帮忙照了最后一张全家福
。然后把孩子们送回去睡觉,其后就一直守在他身边。我和他说了很多很多话,和他说
我怎么爱上他的,和他说我对我们共同生活未来的展望,我摇他大声呼唤他,可是他都
没有反应,我一遍又一遍地亲他,和他说我舍不得舍不得啊,我知道他其实听得到,因
为期间他的血压有所回升。我一度以为奇迹出现,就更用力地抱他,更大声地说话。可
是生命的力量还是抵挡不住癌细胞的吞噬。他的血压一路滑落,最后凌晨近四时,他大
声喘了几口气,发出类似叹气的声音,眼角慢慢沁出一滴泪水。医疗监视器的警告声提
醒我,This is it。我的坚强的老公啊,我认识他以来从来没见他哭过,总算在他人生
的最后时刻,流下了一滴泪水。。
