书名借用来自中国的说法“半边天”；书的前几页里还专门加一页，空旷旷只有两行字
：“Women hold up half the sky—Chinese proverb”。在全中国人民忙着改革开放
奔小康的“不经意”间，“妇女能顶半边天”被美国人宣布为一句中文成语！
据说有人做过调查，“半边天”原是湖南某地乡间的一个说法，后被借用，稍加改动，
