China Bashing is for Losers
Oct. 21 2010 - 2:17 pm
By SHIKHA DALMIA
China bashing has become a bi-partisan sport this election season. But if
the bashers won’t heed the economic case for not knocking down America’s
second largest trading partner, they ought to consider the political one:
Even if they get into office by peddling false economic theories, in order
to stay there they will have to produce the right results. This
protectionism never has – and never will – deliver.

2009.
Certain Chinese complained that Mr. Lei Zhang donarted almost $9 million to
his alma mater Yale School of Management. As if China is poor!
Hasn't US kept saying China ought to be a responsible shareholder? The
slogan is revived recently, after the Obama administration buried it for
some time.

Give me liberty or give
me death.

by Prof. Phyllis Chesler
It is all happening and far more quickly than even I had anticipated; and
yet, the events are so surreal that they seem to be happening in slow motion
, as if we are dreaming or in a really bad movie.
That is because we view it all—but are helpless before it.
The natural disasters: an earthquake which may have killed more than 10,000
people in Japan and an unintended Japanese nuclear meltdown are fully

Dearest creature in creation
Studying English pronunciation,
I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse and worse.
I will keep you, Susy, busy,
Make your head with heat grow dizzy;
Tear in eye, your dress you'll tear;
Queer, fair seer, hear my prayer.
Pray, console your loving poet,
Make my coat look new, dear, sew it!
Just compare heart, hear and heard,
Dies and diet, lord and word.
