certain Houston would outbid Utah (with basically nothing other than picks).
The problems I can see:
1) On offense, Al doesn't have the range to complement Yao. Bosh is better
in this sense. AJ is arguably one of the best low-post offensive players in
the league, but that overlaps with Yao.
2) On defensive, Al doesn't have the lateral quickness and explosiveness for

thoughts from other angles.
First of all, this is a marginal hands. In marginal hands, strategy is as
important, and perhaps more, than science. I would say, in IMPs, it always
pays off to be more aggressive, while in MPs, being conservative tends to be
better as even if you can't outbid the field, you can still outplay the field.

usually, bid over WEAK 1NT need to promise constructive value,
and this hand does have it.
The weakness is short spades, i.e.
may be outbid(opps have spades) or misfit(pd has spades), but it's
