)。至于应不应该先写短篇,我可真不敢说。我看了一些作家写自己写作历程的书。不
是所有的人都适合写短篇,不是有能力写长篇就一定能写短篇。我就是其中之一。几乎
所有作家都有一个共同特点,就是daydreaming。 你等车的时候,有人从你前面走过,
你就不自觉得开始“编”了:这个人可能是个什么身份;现在去干嘛;别看他表面很镇
定,其实正在生气… 但是作家和作家不同。有人擅于短平快,有人一铺就很大,没有
几年收不了尾。不光是长篇,还一定要写系列。我就试过写短篇,最后的结果是写出来
的东西毫无意义。总觉得这才开头呢,怎么就得收尾了呢?
当然,也有人长短收放自如的。我不了解你的情况。现在普遍的说法是,短篇不好卖。

former head of a NASA lab. It is very helpful.

6. Conclusion
每张slide上面的文字千万不要太多,提纲挈领的来几句就行了。我们以前被教育
的原则是如果你的slide上面超过40个字, 肯定没人耐心读完。最好每个slide都有个
小title, 大家好知道你为什么show这张slide。当然,conclusion上的字可以多点。

I wouldn't call it a Java victory. But it should be convincing
the salary is comparable. Now there are way more Java jobs, from normal
distribution perspective, if you are really really good, the outliner
is going to be more outliner in comparison. If you are going to lead
a bigger group, with a bigger project, chance is you'll get paid better,
it's not exactly rocket science.

他的什么条件可以压过统计和CS的科班PhD。non parametric methods是统计PhD的基本
功,是GRF是imaging上常用的,每年computer vision三大会议那么多paper的作者,都
是他的竞争对手,我好奇的是他凭借的条件的绝不是仅仅这两个概念吧?
并且这两个技能和高端没啥关系啊,看看每年KDD和NIPS里边的结果,都不比这个东西
低端啊。
并且,最后一条,我来举个例子,读博士发Plos one毕业这是正常期望,发NAR是水平比
较高的,但是也够得着,读博士要发Nature,这实质就是outliner。忽悠现在生物坑里
去学统计的人,就是把Outliner当成正常期望。
统计PhD们,又会统计又会coding,大部分人也都是找个普通工作,不知道版上的人认
为“无敌”了是个什么样子

outline, there are a few pulse signal.
But don't know how to fit the envelope for it. Think the envelope function is
(sin(pi*w*sin(theta)/lambda)/(pi*w*sin(theta)/lamda))^2. But what the
mathematic relationship between the signal and the envelope? I can find the
mathtools like mathcad, matlab and mathematica. So if there is any code of
them, it will be more helpful.

loser,但我确实认为案子每个都要看懂,教授上课讲的一定要听懂,力争不用
commercial outline而自己做提纲,临考前几天有选择性地计时做三五套教授以前出过
的题(如果教授没有公布过去的考卷的话这步也省了)。我认识的不看案子的,不听教
授说的,直接读commercial outline的基本在班上倒数。
至于前面几条,虽然极端,却是见人见智的东西,不说也罢。 |

即使是同一个学校同一门课,不同教授教的内容,侧重点和考试风格都出入很大,只有
找出你自己的教授以前出过的考题来做才有效——和为什么大家考托福GRELSAT都去找
真题做是一个道理。在本来就没有多少真题的情况下搞题海战术才是“事倍功半,
brute-force的做法。”
快速阅读理解案子或者文书是法学院乃至做律师的基本功,越练越有,不练就没有。几
十个案子读下来就知道哪里是重点要圈圈点点而哪里是废话可以跳过不看了,即使是英
语母语本科文科的学生,完全不读案子而只看commercial outline,成绩也好不到哪里
去,因为commercial outline和题库是人人都有的,而对案例和教授讲课的理解才是自
己独有的。

法学院的阅读量是很大,所以要花时间,还要会速读,可以去买些辅导教材,casenote, legalline 什么的,可以省些力气。但是无论如何课前一定要预习。
如果你读过PHD,听课应该是没有问题的。
作业好好做,找人帮你改改,如果对自己没信心,千万不要有语法和拼写错误。
考试一般都是开卷,所以其实很容易的。 学会做outline,或者去跟同学,网上找些
outline。考试基本上就没有问题了,没那么恐怖的。当然也有个别科目可能是闭卷的
,实在怕,如果不是必修课,就尽量不要去选那个老师的课就好了,先向前人打听一下
再选课。
再有就是积极回答问题了,别憋在那里,别发怵,不要怕英文差,多回答问题,当然要
回答对。还有就是课后没事找个问题跟教授“研究”一下,印象分很重要的。
教材书看你老师的大纲以后再买,没事别买一堆的black law dictionary的东东,用不上几回。 再说图书馆里都有。 老师给的教材list买了就可以了。 |

multistate的材料
另外1L那個大barbri冊子是沒有選擇題的(或者好像有幾道),都是outline...沒時間
就別看了,還是看keyed to your prof的outline吧 |

我没参加什么培训班。 大多数法学院的同学都是参加了BARBRI的班。那样的话,自己
就不必做什么安排,只要跟班走就可以了。我家离学校有40麦,所以天天去学校上
BARBRI班根本不现实。如果上网听课的话,报班的好处就又打了折扣。我在了解了BAR
EXAM的内容之后,觉着自己在家准备也没问题,就跟版上发帖,买了一套BARBRI NY的
教材,另附一份上课的录音。另外,我还到EBAY买了一份 BARBRI NY HANDOUT。于是一
切就绪了。
我五月二十多考完期末,然后就是毕业典礼。按理说我应该马上开始学习,可是由于准
备期末考试的倦怠还挥之不去,我总是无法进入状态。而且一开始我还没摸索出最行之
有效的方法,一上来就去硬啃BARBRI MBE 的大部头,所以效果极差。这里要说说
BARBRI教材,大约是12本书,简直就是巨细无遗。 现在回头看看,根本没必要也不可
能需要这许多东西,最重要的其实还是 HANDOUT。 这HANDOUT其实是一份奇厚无比的讲
