(Reuters) - Nokia, the world's top cellphone maker by volume, warned of a
weak start to 2011 after its market share shrank again in the fourth quarter
, sending its shares sharply lower.
Stephen Elop, who took over as chief executive last September, said the
company faced significant challenges in its competitiveness and execution.
"These results point to the daunting task ahead of Elop in 2011," Geoff

phones, may have delivered as many as 4 million of its N8 smartphones this
quarter, Helsinki-based equity research company Inderes Oy said on its
website today.
Inderes cited guidance given by chip makers, N8 search volumes on Internet
search engines, additional recruitment at Nokia’s Finnish factory in Salo
and media attention to the phone.

Finland that the company will not close the mobile phone factory there,
Finnish state- owned broadcasting company YLE reported on its website.
Nokia needs more production capacity and its decision to open a mobile phone
factory in Vietnam will not affect operations in Salo, Elop said according
to YLE. YLE didn’t say how it got the information.
