The first 9 holes, I got 53, just like my previous score. But I got 2 pars.
The tee 1 and tee2 costs me too many stokes. I can't even mention it.
The last 9 holes, I got 39, two double bogeries, 2 pars, all of rest are
bogery. lahlah~~~
What I improved dramatically is my driver. Even though it doesn't go that far,
just keep at around 210 yards, it is enough. So I use it for several par3
holes (200 yards), which never made me disappointed today.

发帖数: 10701 | 7 近一个月没有打过course，前天回来碰了一点点球杆，周五上了天班，下班就回家睡觉
直到凌晨2点。
上网，看书，看电视，于6点接到同事来电说要去打GOLF.
那时刚躺下还想睡会呢。
去就去吧，没有热身。站在tee box前，感觉那个不一样呀，真有些第一打golf的样子。
于是第一个tee shot就OB. 以double bogery结束第一par 5.
却没想，自此stay fire。birdied第2个396 yards par 4, 然后2个pars in a row,
bogery一个par3, 接下来 double, 在par, par, 以4 over结束前9洞。
第2个double-bogery也发生在par5上。我和同事第一次在这个river lake golf course
打球，他对周围的房子非常感兴趣，也有一懂open house。他就取了个flyer, 上书
3340 sqt, 4 bed/ 3 bath, 3 garage，开价$1.1M. 他说要和他老婆商量把自己家的$
2M house卖掉，到这里买一幢。

那个248yards的par 3我记忆中共打过2次，第一次和一个打sunshine tournament的职
业球员一起。他在这之前的par4，试着用一个huge hook把球绕过山坡的一角送上果岭
，等一个eagle， 我当时觉得他挺有意思，就等他在par3。
那时我也击出一个很好的tee shot，但10 yards 短了，他tee shot比我糟糕，但得到
一个up and down, 我chipping on green, 那么近距离hole的putting stroke还给错过
了。 |

对于那些长于460 yards的par4, (共4个），真是绝望呀，太长了，特别是前9洞的3个
长par4, hole #8， 465yards, green是建在半山腰上的，有效距离绝对长于490yards，
3 handicap hole; 1 handicap hole是no.9, 490yards， teebox倒是在山顶，可眼前
是个大湖，基本上就是一个dogleg left的长par4.
还有就是从220yards的2个par3, 和一个240yards的par4, 和最短的一个171yards的
par4.
最终，丢了一个球， 一共36个putts，击中4个greens.....
看来我最舒服的距离，就是6800-7000yards. |

so i predict the best score I could shot at this course will be +7, hoho.
Sean O'hare shots -8 through 12 holes with an averaged driving distance 311
yards. I wish I could improve my distance by 20 yards. |

我shot of the day.
我才前期对处理长铁杆有点怕，不明白什么原因。我还在LA时，我练习很多长铁杆，而
到了这里基本上就不怎么练习了，原因是除了这个par 3外，基本上用不到5， 4 和3.
而这2天，我又重新找回了长铁杆的信心。我没有试着改变我的任何swing动作，握杆方
式，准备姿势等等，只是在脑海中改变了一个概念，一个球杆面和球接触的概念。
就有这么奇妙。 |

to figure out was if my driver is not suitable for me any more. So I hit
two balls at each tee box except those 2 par3s, using my driver and 3-wood
respectively. What I knew was there was
only about 10 yards difference at most. Normally, there is supposed to be at
least 25-yard
difference.
I knew my shaft of driver is too soft and too light. The standard shaft
coming with the driver is a 50g, low kick Aldna one. My 3-wo |

for these long courses, the feature is that a lot of 420 or so par 4, and a
number of 200 or so par3.
if drive just 220, then 200 apporach, that's not confortable distance (never
hit green from 200 yard)
245 + 175 (borrow some roll on green, just 170, so it's more comfortable for
a mid iron shot)
if drive 245, 3wood 230 or so, then 70-80 left for 550 par5, or 20-30 yard
for 510 par 5. that's getting comfortable picture. |

this morning, i went there, and was told they converted the short game area
into a par3. no more free short game.
i was preparing to hit at range, 老头看我可怜, offer me a bucket of free
balls.
looks like i need change my 2008 budget. |

it gave me very good opportunity to practice within 100 yards. it is better
than driving range, 1. cheaper, 2. you can walk to the green and check how
much you miss, just cant do that on driving range,
where do you practice the "within 100 yeards"? |

记得去年看了一个PGA Tour的比赛，有一个180码的Par3。Vjay Singh那一组的两个人
用7iron,而他用的8iron。三个人都达到Green，主持人还专门提了一下Vjay的力量比较
好，距离比较远。估计咱们这位牛人要是有这个机会的话，估算一下大概9iron甚至稍
微使使劲PW就没什么问题了。那可真是为咱中国人争光了，谁还去fan什么Anthony Kim
啊！
其实有个很简单的办法，如果在球场上，你的Approach Shot总是短一些的话（比如这
位老兄用6iron或者7iron去打200码远的green，我估计你会短不少），你就得重新审视
自己对距离的判断了。 |

概5/6来米的小坡?),par3,7号铁,意外(指准确度,不是距离)的直接落到洞口.前面说了
这么多,其实目的就是一个.没见过,不见得别人就做不到.我现在根本不关心打多远,我
愿意6/7号就打150以内,但是能控制落点.可惜我根本做不到.
最后,这个运动,别人爱吹就吹去,你爱信就信.因为这个沮丧,呵呵~句号. |

birdied 2次，都是从par3里拿到的，很不容易。double-b两次，一个从50码处，忘了
是在打50码，full-swing讲球直接送出岛状果岭，另外一个d-b是最后一个洞，天已经
黑了。
希望这轮成绩能给我点自信打下周的texas mid-amateur tournement. |

She bogeyed two par-3 holes. Interesting, it matches my observation when
I played with a scratch player. long hitter has difficulty with short
par3, hehe.

发帖数: 10701 | 24 hit all round pretty solid,except the #9. Tripled it. which made my score
from +1 to +4 through 9 holes.
Several really nice holes, several low-level mistakes, like shot 189 yards
using 3 woods, later on, i found i put 7-wood headcover on the 3-wood. i was
thinking to hit 7-wood for the hole. .Everyone thought I could win the
close-to-the-pin money.
3 putts twice, all from the par3s. pretty bad.
If i could have taken those 5 shots off, it could be a much nicer score. |

i realized without solid 200 yards shot, birdie is just out of the question,
and par if lucky with one putt.
for 200 par3, 420 or more par4, and 480 or more par5, there is just no
chance.

拿到手。
今天上了driving range 练手，打起来真是爽啊。。。。nice contact, easily up to
the air, very straight....
有180yard 的par3 可以试试birdie了，嘿嘿嘿 |

so first birdie is one goal.
two way to get it: 1) accurate iron play for par3 hole. 2) hit long for
par4 /5 holes.
in order to get that, have to improve swing. recently mainly working on the
timing and sync of the chain action. focus on the quality of practice, not
quantity. don't want to repeat improper swing action.
so basic goal is hit shots to desired direction/distance 70% time...

it was freaking windy. Like > 30mph from southwest.
I did pay attention to on what those pros had done.
the best player was the PGA tour event winner Wel Short Jr. He is the only
one who broke even.
there was another guy called Kevin Myre who won 3-time close-to-pin from 4
par3s.
I played him twice. he is the longest ball-strike I've eve seen. (actually,
he is 2nd long).
all rest of the players shot high 70's /and 80's. |

i shot +3. not that good, but ok..
front 9, is difficult than back 9, normally, for this golf course.
my 6 clubs are driver, 7-wood, 7-iron, 9-iron, 58 wedge and putter. it
turned to be a good combination, except one 178-yard par3. it was front pin,
so played like 163-165, I guess. I used my 7-iron, about 5-yard short.
i will do it more. it's a good way to do the course management, and also
distance control. |

for around 200 yards par3, i tee off with wood or hybrid, he tee off with 3i.
actually, he doesnt even carry a driver. i tried to lend him driver or woods
, but he just cant handle, so he stick with his 3i.

at screen. cant believe tim clark 3up.
at 16th hole, 193 par3, tim tee up, and land on green, roll within about 4
feet; while, tiger tee off land edge of the green and bounce into rough.
everyone was hoping he could get the same magic as he did in 14th hole,
bunker to hole. but no magic this time.
after watching that, i was planning to play a small bucket 50 balls, and
changed mind to play 100 balls. //kaka |

use 3 iron.
it all depends on how good are your irons.
as ET said before, 7 iron 150, times 3, you can still reach short par5 by
GIR
to me, without driver, my ball wont go anywhere.
in terms of course management, i am on the other end spectrum. I plan to
leave my irons out of my game for now (keep 7,8,9), since most of my errant
shots are from irons. also, to get good score, most of time, it is decided
by how good is your |

打起来压力非常大, 因为搞来搞去，好几个洞都差不多，有一90YARDS PAR3，人TEE

天气不错，球场景色很漂亮。蓝天，白云，碧海，还有天上蚊虫一样拥来拥去的滑翔伞
，五颜六色。
为了不给自己添堵，我们很识相选择了白tee，全长6700yard左右。US OPEN以后rough
剪短了很多，起码大部分时候能看见鞋面。但是粗枝大叶的草，很密很硬，和塑料的一
样。手拖车在里面都不太拖得动。球进去很难找。今天唯一丢的一个球，就是这么丢的
。眼看着落在rough里，3个人找半天，硬是没找着。First Cut的草更短，但是一样硬
，一样密。所以基本上如果开球没在球道上，GIR就指望不大了。前9洞只有3个开球在
球道上，结果可想而知，一个+3，3个+2.9洞以丢球一枚，+12收场，很败兴。后9洞景
色更好，开球也好了很多，所有小白球都幸存了。以+7结束。
打完以后的感觉是，球场挺难的。球道窄，打歪了的惩罚很大。沙坑多，球道上和果岭
周围。风很大，很多par 4风都是横切进来。会做球的，会占很大便宜。4个par3 都是
顶风。果岭比较小，比较快，起伏大。但是不算太硬。球场景色很好，尤其像今天这样
的晴天。视觉冲击力很大。对钱包的冲击 |

using it, GPS makes my game funnier. i compared it with other benchmarks,
such as google satillite map, pretty accurate.
it's neo igolf, i got about 120 bucks, plus one time data fee, 34 bucks
additional.
this time, no GIR on par3. but thanks to your R7 driver,
GIR on longest holes last saturday, including 560yard #6: R7 to about 240
yards, 6i intentional slice to turn the corner, 15x yards left by GPS, 8i

more confidence in it. kind of positive cycle.
8i is short club and easy to control, and high trajectory results in very
little roll. last time play, i found ball mark, and ball is only 3 feet away.
i think par5, par4, and elevated down green 170 yard par3, all could use 8i,
so you intentionally break down the distance with 150-160 yards in
consideration.

most time, I am always in hurry to get my ball on the green. For par3, I use
one of my long irons, and for par4 and par5, I tee off with my driver or 3
wood and regardless of how bad the teeing off is, I either use a wedge to
correct my fault or use one iron to get the ball close to the green, which
ends up with using wedges a lot.

a couple to the green-side bunkers. Yes, those par3s are long. the shortest
one is 181 yards . My new hybrid worked well that day, which helped a lot.

or 4 or 5 iron to 200 yards, dependent on my swing condition. Since I have
a 4H now, so I can use it for 200 yards, or I place the ball at the center
for the tee position, with my 5 wood, I can hit it 200 yards in a high
trajectory. |

I met some long hitters on the course, none on weekends. When they whip
their
club, you will know immediately. The sound before and after the contact is
amazing. They never slice, never. Sometime hook tho. Most time, dead
straight. for 190yds par3 against the wind, they thought of 6 or 7 iron.

i didnt have fairway woods at that time, so, i hit every tee with my driver.
the more you hit, and better you master that club.
my first birdie from 18-hole course, was from a 196 par3, which i tee off with
my driver two years ago. looks like laughable now, but that was my only
option, since i need carry 180 over water.
after a while, i read most of ppl could reach 220, 230 with 3wood, then i
start to use 3wood. play woods and driver side by side, yo |
