这两天在病中，读书全无力气，倒是有时间胡思乱想。潦草地整理了一下思绪，权作抛
砖之用。
前段时间，中南大学本科生刘路证明Seetapun猜想并获聘为国内最年轻的正教授级研究
员一事引发了不少讨论。我对Ramsey理论和数理逻辑仅有一点 皮毛的了解，无法估量
这项工作的分量。唯一想说的是：无论拔擢是否过当，能做出原创性的贡献总是好的。
同为本科生，在这一点上我便自愧不如。反之，说几句 无关痛痒的风凉话是谁都能做
的，又何妨少说以至于不说。
谈论刘路的同时，我所想到的(也是不少“圈中人”所想到的)是另一位同龄人John
Pardon. 此君在Princeton读本科时已解决了Gromov提出的一个扭结问题，发表在数学
界 最高刊物Annals上。几个月前，Stanford研究生院一年级在读的Pardon又有新突破
：利用极小曲面的技巧他证明了Hilbert- Smith猜想的3维情形。如此惊人的早慧，大
