In any case, my neighborhood is not a high crime area but the streets got

样还可以claim dependents.但是不是必须要超过183天才可以claim？如果是183天，出
入那2天又不算的话，6月份过来的话，无论如何也不够183天啊？一般海关在I-94上给
的parol都是正好6个月的，e.g 6月29日入境，那paroled until: 12月28日，就不够

一般，如果你逗留超过I-94的日期180天，跟着离开美国，就无论如何有3年不能进入美
国。如果逗留超过I-94的日期1年，跟着离开美国，就无论如何有10年不能进入美国。
就算你嫁了美国人，申请绿卡，也无法进入美国，除非他们批了hardship waiver。或
者你绿卡申请中离开美国，就算你有advance parole，也不能回来。
但是F1和J1的人，I-94上是“D/S”的，就没有这个问题。这不是说非法逗留不是问题
。如果你申请旅游签证，他们很有可能拒绝。但是如果你嫁了美国人，申请绿卡，就算
你以前F1非法逗留了10年，都可以进入美国。或在申请绿卡中离开美国，有advance
parole，就可以回来。

有几个问题想请教版上各位前辈：
1. 140刚刚approve，还没收到approval notice，打算用140的receipt申，这样在
cover letter里要提一下140已经approve了吗？
2. 485表part 2问priority date，receipt notice上没有priority date，140的律师
说approval notice上会有，就是receive date。还没收到approval notice，这个地方
是不是就不填了？
3. 我之前看一个帖子说485上的A number要填140 approval notice上的，跟以前OPT
EAD卡上的A number不一样。那没收到approval notice的填什么呢？填原来的还是空着
？140填表的时候律师就直接填的OPT EAD卡上的。

Just received the cards. Here is the timeline of the 2+ year process (long
and painful). Hopefully it is useful for somebody.
1) 3/2004
Submitted I-140, I-485, health documents, advance parole ... at the same
time (of course, now you have to file 140 and 485 separately), sponsored by
the company though an outside law firm.
2) ~6/2004
