，我开玩笑地说，是孩子太优秀了娶不好嫁不好。但隐约之中，觉得有更serious的
downside。

发帖数: 4510 | 10 我曾问过我的教授，当faculty需要什么。他马上说，passion，不然一定会很难坚持。
我马上想，完了，我肯定没有啊。而且好像我的fellow Chinese们也没有。但其实，放
眼四望，中国faculty还不少。很简单，固然没有主观的passion，但第一代移民也有土
著所没有的生存压力和不安全感。版上的气氛，推与不推，如何如何，很多都是根植在
这种心理状态下。
如果虎妈虎爸能把这种不安全感传下去，孩子们也会同样把这种不安全感外化为
passion。但因为本质上和老美不一样，所以努力的方向不一样。孩子推坏了的，很多
是光推刷题，不推passion或是推了，但移民第二代的孩子不能理解父母的不安全感。
另外关于possitive，我觉得老中和老美都是走了两个极端。我和一个小美谈起，她也
对现在年轻美国人那种自信满满老子天下第一的心态很感冒，觉得现在的方向是很有问
题的。 |

很多Gifted小娃只是在智力水平上相比同龄儿童 Gifted，他们的情商和心理成熟度未
必超前。你说的1，2点其实在Gifted小娃中很普遍。
其实知道Gifted小娃的这些特点后，家长可以利用这些特点有意识地帮助GT小娃学习。
比如很多GT小娃自学的时候，喜欢冒进，不喜欢重复学过的内容或去做基础性的练习。
这样往往会造成这些GT孩子基础不牢靠，影响以后的发展。这个时候家长完全可以以半
游戏的形式或通过各种趣味奖励让GT孩子去做那些巩固基础的练习，帮助他们打好基础。
兴趣和擅长是相辅相成的。记得以前某个网友说过，如果某个项已孩子只有兴趣但并不
擅长，孩子的兴趣很容易在失败中逐渐消磨掉。而擅长的项目会让孩子不断得到内心的
满足和各种形式的鼓励。对于这些项目，家长只要正确的引导，会比较容易让孩子产生
真正的兴趣。而这种兴趣，哪怕一开始是追逐外在的东西，久而久之也可能内化为
passion。就像男女交朋友，一开始可能只是被外表的东西吸引，有好感，处得久了才

自己的passion。所以，女儿进大学时，我说你不用急着选专业，先看看，找一个自己
喜欢，也能养活自己的专业。女儿看了一圈，回头给我说，她们学校最popular的专业
是econ，一些人去投行，一些读研究生，还有一些读法律；她们的art history的毕业
生占了两大拍卖行的半壁江山。。。最后她选了双专业，也没有去投行。。。
我觉得无论啥专业，作得好总能养活自己的。有 passion才能作得好。所以，我鼓励她
们找passion。我们这一代没有这个机会，很大程度上为油盐菜米拖累了。我算运气不

他回去的早，导师也帮忙。我导师也很有名，但不帮弟子的，所以他基本没有弟子回国
的。
国内学术界基本上还是需要拉帮结伙才能拿到经费的，这个我在研究生期间因常替老板
办事跑腿，就耳闻目睹。出国后的同事还正好是老板对头那边的人，两人国内不认识，
一聊就相识大笑，知道国内那些所谓的大师等等，都是外面人远远看到的。我自己的导
师属于比较另类的，是走高层路线的，所以，他学部委员都很费劲才拿到。当然，也是
性格使然。我虽然朋友很多，但老式文化人的风骨还在，趋炎附势不是我的性格，所以
，美国更合适我。（这里老朋友多，讨论就请别提名，不然我不会参与的。）
想回去，我的路子很多的。国内有朋友早年是国内某大省主管人才交流的官员。和我很
要好的。我2004年回国，他还飞长沙，和其他朋友劝我回国呢。但他也说了，国内的文
化就是他也很不舒服，至今也就是一个副局级的。生活无忧，家人也照顾得不错，但他
也明确说，伤天害理的事在中国官场还是四处可见的，学术界好很多。但要独善其身，
国内都很难的。

这个感受很深：我把跑步和游泳间隔开来。每次跑步的时候，发现是最放松的时间，脑
子里面可以空出来，去漫无目标地闲逛。那时，心里存放的一些问题，就会慢慢浮出答
案或者可以尝试的解。什么都没有也没关系，就安心跑步，什么都不想。游泳就不行了

听，如何让孩子准备申请材料或怎样培养孩子，才能让孩子顺利地进入藤校。这是一个
仁者见仁、智者见智的话题，而我 近期没有关注这方面的消息，不敢误人子弟，就建
议他们到一些网站上去查找相关资料。但为了满足他们的某些要求和图省事，我把多年
前在网上有感而发的一些帖 子找出来，电邮给他们做参考。他们收到后都很高兴。想
着这些帖子也许对年轻校友有用，我就重新整理改写成一篇长文，发给我们的美国校友

【新唐人2011年4月23日讯】大学生药家鑫去年10月份驾车撞倒一名骑机车的女性后，
不但没有将被害人送医，反而拿出尖刀将伤者刺杀，西安市法院4月22号判处药家鑫死
刑。有评论者认为：这是「民意的胜利」，也有人指出，这是正常的法律判决。学者认
为：这起案件之所以激起舆论的强烈回响，正反映出社会的不正常，下面来听一听各界
人士的看法。
西安音乐学院大三学生药家鑫被判「故意杀人罪」，处以死刑。并赔偿被害人家属45,
000多元。
北京宪政学者陈永苗认为这是「一次民意的胜利」。在此之前，中央电视台、公安大学
教授等为药家鑫的辩护，令民众隐约感到法律将再次向特权阶层倾斜，因而爆发了舆论
的大论战。
中国天网人权事务中心义工蒲飞认为，这个案件的判决，并非法制的胜利，而只是法制
的正常。一个健康的国家法制不需要胜利，只需要正常。
大陆诗人，文化学者叶匡政也认为，这样一个事实清楚的杀人案件，却成为舆论和媒体
讨论的热点话题，其实反映出社会的不正常。大家都在就某个事件，来表达对法律的怀
