是这里的旅馆便宜，另外一个原因是，镇上有诺贝尔文学奖得主John Steinbeck（《愤
怒的葡萄》的作者）的故居。早晨去了故居，却不开门，只得匆匆在作家门口的台阶上
踩了几脚，便开往几英里以外的Monterey半岛。半岛沿岸就是1号公路，从此一路沿1号
路向南，将会经过颇具盛名的17-mile drive，有传说中最美的海滨景色；著名的
Pebble Beach高尔夫球场，也是一个美丽的传奇地点；最后1号路将沿着加州的海岸线
蜿蜒于海山之间，最壮观的景色在Big Sur附近。去年的这个时间我单独走过一次，从
三藩市开到了洛杉矶，只那一次，便爱上了这条海滨公路。
回想起加勒比的海，那是甜的、腻的、充满热带的兰花和热带鱼的鲜艳颜色的，在记忆
中有碧海银沙和娇艳的暖阳，却也总有潮湿的汗渍引起的不快和沙粒在脚趾间的烦恼感
觉。而在这条路上，只有寒风和无法亲近的礁石海岸，然而在此地、在陡峭的盘山公路
旁眺望浩瀚无边的太平洋，一个人那种“感天地之悠悠”的情绪，真的很容易生长出来

不过这里可以做个简单计算，3/16" 的钉子够粗了吧？就算是平头，面积只有 0.028平
方英寸。一般的车往轻了说，2500磅，平均到四个轮子，算600磅吧，那么这颗螺钉对
轮胎的压强也有 20,000 多 PSI。我还没找到官方数据，但我觉得 两万多 PSI，应该
足够扎破轮胎了。
至于你说的 tiny cubic pebble, 由于不够高，被轮胎盖住后，轮胎其他部分还能触地
，pebble 对轮胎的压强并没有高到能对轮胎造成损伤。
如果你还是觉得要做试验才能确定，非常欢迎你来验证我的计算，呵呵。

on Sat. i played at Poppy Hill, which is part of the whole Pebble Beach golf
courses, (one of them, and the only one i can afford to play). if you watch
the Pro-Am on TV at Pebble Beach, you would see the unbelievable weather we
had.
it was like playing golf in heaven.

0530 到OTC。由于其中一人没有上闹钟的关系，大家破例等了20分钟。
0600 从OTC出发，5个人，其中一个极新手，一个刚生上了病 DDD SICK OFFICEMATE。
教训是这种事情生了小病也不要去。
0845 到Paradise。
0920 从Paradise出发，天可怜见，不会背东西，最后把那双租来的靴子挂在腰间的绳
子上当Cup Holder，哈哈。俺SINGLE-HANDEDLY耽误了20分钟。慢慢地走。
0930 走出云层，阳光灿烂。继续慢慢地走。过Pebble Creek之后有大面积的雪。不过
雪已经很薄，到处是流水。在Pebble Creek之后半小时赶上那位生病的仁兄，一起慢慢
地走。9000尺之后雪厚一些，不过那个地方已经比较地陡，用上冰爪保险一些。
1500 左右，在过了那个大坡之后，对面来一巨猛的下山的人，脚踩冰爪大步流星朝我
这边走来，说时迟那时快，突然发现他只剩一个头在外面。还好他的两只胳膊还没掉下
去，在很结实的雪上面。很快他就自己爬了出来。是个瑞典人，上来自我解嘲地说那个
冰爪本来就要卸掉了，要不是它 |

发帖数: 379 | 25 Finally my turn, 哈哈~ John贴出的这个climb走的是elevation gain最少的DC路线，
行程是相对最轻松的第三天登顶，还号称relaxing pace，太符合俺这等懒人胃口了，
呵呵。星期五早上4点起床，7点两辆车准时到Longmire的餐馆门口，接到John的电话，
说他们那辆车有人忘记带鞋子了，回家去取，要迟到1个多小时，ft… 百无聊赖的等他
们到、吃饭、分东西、登记，11点过了才从停车场出发，真是起了个大早，赶了个晚晚
集…
今年雪非常多，paradise号称有2米多的积雪，从停车场出发就是在雪上了，下来的时
候刚好洗鞋子，我喜欢。路上听到一个中国老爹跟他儿子说，给你和专业登山队背影照
张像，哈哈，走DC虚荣心就是容易得到满足啊~ 在Pebble creek补充了水，往上在Muir
snowfield上听到了很多次山上冰崩和落石的轰鸣声，还看到了一次腾起的烟雾。
快5点的时候到的Muir，人很多。到Ranger那里领了装食物的小口袋，据说有某种动物
专门以偷营地食物为生，所以吃的要装口袋里远离帐篷。唉，你说我们都把东西藏好了

发帖数: 2798 | 31 我觉得用玻璃在地下装一个鱼池可能不太妥。玻璃很平，刚性，和基底紧密合缝会很困
难，对基底的施工精度要求太高，不管基底／侧壁是直接土壤，水泥，还是细沙。我干
过地上挖一坑，放大概１００或２００加仑的PVC预制的FREE FORM的鱼池，池子放上去
，灌上水，总觉得在地里晃荡，一怒之下，又把坑添了。
我印象中这边游泳池的建法是：先来一队人在地上钉上一些板材，钩勒出池子的形状，
这一步叫FORMING；然后挖土机开挖，大概到离FORMING板子３～４INCH的时候停，这一
步叫EXCAVATION；然后管子工来铺上白色的PVC管，供后面水循环用，叫PLUMBING；然
后工人用粗钢筋和细钢筋在土坑里搭上架子，成型后的细钢筋网大概离土壁１～２INCH
，用预制的水泥方块垫着和地底／土壁隔离，这一步忘了，大概叫FRAMING；然后水泥
车开来，用一根长的管子把水泥喷射到坑壁和迟底，大概水泥硬化的时间调得比较特别
，浇上去一会儿就可以人踩来踩去，方便人在池底施工，这一步大概叫SHOOT CONCRETE
。然后等几个星期，这一步出现裂纹好象属于正常；然后工人来把池子清干净，又喷一
