What is a supermoon? The word supermoon didn’t come from astronomy. Instead
, it came from astrology. Astrologer Richard Nolle of the website astropro.
com takes credit for coining the term supermoon. In 1979, he defined it as:
…a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90%
of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit (perigee). In short,

Closest full moons recur in cycles of 14 lunar (synodic) months, because 14
lunar months almost exactly equal 15 returns to perigee. A lunar month
refers to the time period between successive full moons, a mean period of 29
.53059 days. An anomalistic month refers to successive returns to perigee, a
period of 27.55455 days. Hence:
14 x 29.53059 days = 413.428 days
15 x 27.55455 days = 413.318 days

orbit is closest to the Earth) of the year 2011 which coincides with a full
moon. However the moon has been this close to earth many many times (once a
year maybe). Next time it will be May 6 2012, and the distance will be 25
km shorter at 356953km.

Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota by PSLV-XL (PSLV-C11) in an highly elliptical
initial orbit (IO) with perigee (nearest point to the Earth) of about 257 km
and an apogee (farthest point from the Earth) of about 22,858 km.

不知道你们注意了没？？昨天是月亮离地球最近的日子，也是阴历十五，所以看起来很
大很圆~~据说狼人都是在这天变身的，可能因为潮汐引力的关系，人很容易在这天冲动
，义气用事，性格大变，所以这天的犯罪率极高。。不才昨天我家里那位就办了件蠢事
让我气得想发疯~！而论坛这几天也不消停啊，闹的沸沸扬扬的~~行啦，都别再挖坑啦

摩羯座（下一次会发生在2014年8月）。由于她离地球的距离比平时更为接近，因此这
个满月比比往任何一个会看起来更大更明亮。这个被天文学家称作“Supermoon"的满月
（Perigee Full Moon）离地球约为356,991公里，而普通的满月一般离地球约为384,
400公里。从科学意义上来讲，这个满月会给地球上海洋的潮汐带来更深重的引力影响
，比如这段时间加拿大的水灾等。对天文爱好者来说当天北美很多地区可观测到这个
不可多得的满月。
PS：据说满月时狼人（werewolves）会出来找食，同学们家有备枪的要记得准备好银制

Full Moon.
Ah, but not just any Full Moon.
The Moon will be within a few hours of its perigee, its closest point to the

The first orbit-raising manoeuvre of Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft was performed
at 09:00 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) this morning (October 23, 2008) when
the spacecraft’s 440 Newton Liquid Engine was fired for about 18 minutes
by commanding the spacecraft from Spacecraft Control Centre (SCC) at ISRO
Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) at Peenya, Bangalore. With
this engine firing, Chandrayaan-1’s apogee has been raised to 37,900 km,
while its perigee has been raised |

as it will be nearly as close as it ever comes to Earth in its orbit.
The Moon does not orbit Earth in a perfect circle. Instead, it follows an
elliptical path that brings it 50,000 kilometres closer to our planet on one
side of its orbit (called perigee) than the other (apogee).
It'll be in year 2016 for such a close distance. |
