Paul Haggis编剧，导演的。
好编剧，写了个好剧本，并且有名气以后，不愿意让别人导演（感觉得到编剧的credit
），所以自己导。昆廷也是这路子。这路作者的问题是，他们不是职业导演，所以作为
导演，都有问题。
Haggis他的问题是，他本质上是个技巧性的作者，靠作品结构来显得与众不同。为什么
这样？
他是个电视剧编剧出身。本片里说了，这个写作，其实要写得personal，才会让人有那
种真正的共鸣。而他写电视剧本出身，问题就一个：写得太多了。
一个作家，写得太多，肯定被淘空，最后只好沦为靠写作技巧为生（这就是为什么你不
能把自己的聪明零卖了的缘故——你的聪明你的思考你的积累（包括情绪的积累）就那
么多，你今天写个杂文，明天写个读后感，写上几年，就写空了，剩下的只能是重复。
王朔就是写傻了，十来年快二十年了也没缓过来。我在这里写感想就一定不会去考虑组

人在加州，刚收到正式的TITLE和PLATE，想PERSONALIZE PLATE，好像只要网上提交，
也不需要提
供车辆注册信息，过几个星期就可以去DMV PICK UP。
这样的话在拿到新PLATE后是不是重新申请TITLE呢？还要重新REGISTRATION吗？
PS:现在的FIRST PAID是321￥，真不想再花这个钱了 |

了的事情。何必搞得很不愉快。而且这样很伤组织者的心。我在这读硕士时，也常在学
生会帮忙做事。美国的这些华人活动，组织者都是些志愿者。有这些人肯站出来为大伙
做事，已经是很不容易的事了。我们这些得别人帮助的人，应该给组织者更多的支持而
不是批评。正所谓“古之君子，其责己也重以周，其待人也轻以约”。
而且换个角度来讲，大伙都是同一战线上的人，大家都在准备考board或者已经做了住
院医的，有个共同的 Email list 没什么不好的。不过我也理解有些人特别怕自己考
board的事被老板发现，尤其是在身份还没有解决的情况下。但我个人觉得这是有些过
虑了。谁会那么没事干会因为发现你报名参加一个没开成的会去跑去和你老板说去。
再说了，大家尊重隐私是没错。但很多时候，保护你自己的信息是更关键的你自己。譬
如说非工作的事不要用work email， work email 大多都会显示你的真实名字的。私事
用personal Email。 你自己的personal email, 你没有必要把自己全名放在email |

My personal opinion and experience is that Step 2 scores are much more
predictive of success in internship and residency, and hence I personally
put much more weight on them. Needless to say, if you are trying to get into
an uber-top residency program, then both are critical. A poor Step 1 score
followed by a good step 2 score is not a huge red flag in my book. A good
step 1 score followed by a low Step 2 score is a real concern.
