国内是医学本科，想以后考医生执照，2010年申请了十多个PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
PROGRAM都被据了，没有一个ADMISSION，当初是人在中国，现在已经人在美国，想继续
试一试申请PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT硕士PROGRAM，觉得这样对今后MATCH有帮助，毕竟是
HANDS-ON的临床工作经验，能够系统的了解美国的医疗系统，DUKE的生物统计硕士学费
也贵，三万二一年，比DUKE的PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT硕士PROGRAM的学费还贵。但是就
是觉得PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT硕士PROGRAM好象招外国学生的少，很多PHYSICIAN
ASSISTANT PROGRAM特别说明只招有绿卡的申请者,三年以后不知道PHYSICIAN

HMO. 需要primary physician 推荐才能见specialist. 所以得先找个靠谱的primary.
在选primary physician的时候，能提前知道他/她一般都refer给哪几个OB吗？如果
primary physician refer的OB我不喜欢，但是喜欢的又不被refer的情况怎么办？我能
自己指定一个OB, 让primary physician refer吗？
我偏向于在Scripps Memorial La Jolla 和 Sharp Mary Birch for Women and
Newborns 做孕前检查和生产。

纯科研压力太大，我几年前有完全相同的感受，所以开始考试，match。我也以
physician scientist为目标，尽我所能。现在培训即将结束，但是，现实令人悲观。
14年培训：7年科研，3年住院医，4年fellow。发过6篇一作，拿过training grant，当
过chief resident，AOA。现在正在找 physician scientist职位，希望不大。我觉得
我尽力准备了。可是形式变化，和几年前不同。
医改之后，医院都强调收入。physician-scientist是赔钱的，特别是低年资，没
funding，还要医院扶持资助。这是全国普遍情况，当然也有特殊个例。 有R01的大牛
，医院当然欢迎来撑门面。trump上台，科研经费应该会进一步缩减。状况不会改善。
个人建议，还是先以physician为目标。 scientist么，留点心就好了。临床科研比基
础科研机会大。若以physician-scientist为目标的话，要进有钱的私立顶级名校做
fellow，毕业后自我消化，留校。到时候竞争的人还少。 |

平时看的时候可以任意约，但是接生的时候他们的第一选择是midwife
如果想要physician接生的话，必须提前就决定好。
这家诊所的两个physician倒是都经验很丰富，但是如果是顺产的话，physician基本就
只是最后接生的关头到医院一趟
这家的midwife也是两个，一个大约有4年经验，另一个看上特年轻，像是刚从学校里毕
业的，网上也找不到她的简历，不知道有多少年经验。midwife的好处是生的时候会一
直在身边，从刚进医院一直到生出来，都是midwife接受，包括查开指的内检，不会让
不熟悉的护士来做。
我现在很犹豫，不知道挑哪种好。midwife我最大的担心就是我生的那天，on call的是
那个看上去没啥经验的。接生这活，经验有多重要呢？ |

internal medcine physician.
如果看病，是不是必须先去PCP哪里？否则保险不给报销呢？
可是我想看妇科，虽然family doctor可以看妇科，但怕family doctor的专长不在此。
又不知道internal physician可不可以看妇科，好像内科专长在于内脏器官方面。
大家说如果找PCP，主要看妇科的话，应该找family doctor 还是internal physician

疑解惑.此前也经常来麦地潜水取经.可是自己却从未在版上发过帖子,真是惭愧.我的
match经历实在是平淡无奇,没什么经验可说,不过因为我在match前读了个physician
assistant(PA),对这个职业有一定了解.版上有人问过相关的问题,在我读PA期间也有些
人向我询问关于读PA和match选择的问题,所以现在我就以我的经历来说说,特别是想谈
一下读PA是否对match有帮助.
要不要在match前先考虑读个physician assistant呢?我觉得,对于对match不太有信心,
对毕业年限不需过多考虑(刚刚毕业或毕业>>10年),喜欢临床/primary care的人,你可
以考虑.可如果你是下定决心做医生/想match到病理或university hospital/希望以后
临床科研兼备/可以轻松找到observership/有勇气有魄力的牛牛,那就真的真的不推荐,
也请你不要在这个帖子浪费时间了.
下面先谈一下physician assistant这个职业.

1. physician scientist 比一般的难一些还是容易些，老美是不是不喜欢做这个。
2，physician scientist 一般时间长，出来还要做fellow吗，还是直接找工作？

scientist。所以先考board，然后match，然后做fellow，然后成为physician。期间跟
着大佬做点research，发些paper，一般在做到fellow以后开始申请training grant，
比如K08或者K23，然后再申请R01建立自己实验室，这是一条漫长的路，现在你还是先
考虑step1吧。
至于match哪科，根据你自己的临床兴趣来决定，而不是以后的科研领域。哪科医生都
可以做肿瘤研究，病理，内科，外科，神经，俺都见过有做肿瘤研究的。 |

幸好中国人还可以回国看病（当然急病在美国看了），费用可能比保险公司付过以后个
人需要支付的还少。

样，而且每次visit都不需要付copay（应该是学校付了，估计）。看那些人也都是MD。
请问这种情况下我有必要再找个primary care physician么？相对于学校的health
service，这个PCP有什么优势呢？

与family physician联系,证明你的病情用GENERIC的不行,需要用BRAND NAME 的药, 于
是让他们自己打电话与family physician联系, 几天后通知我,搞定.拿药的时候发现药
品的化学名相同,只是改了个商品名.MM 可以试一试. GOOD LUCK!
BY THE WAY, BRAND NAME 的药一般都很贵, 不过可能效果更好,副作用更小. |
