发帖数: 3310 | 5 前几天发文说发现二楼得地板翘起来了。我们把地板翘起来，发现下面得木头都是湿得。
找了两个contractor来看，他们都怀疑是二楼紧挨着翘起来得木头旁边得shower得
drain有
问题。可是他们页都不能解释如果是drain有问题，为什么会湿到地板。因为地板是再
drain的上面，水应该往下流才对。他们页说有可能是shower的pipe (standing shower
,pipe是
垂直的装在翘起来的地板旁边的墙中间），但是这个也很难解释为什么pipe的水会漏到
地板上。
在一楼的天花板，在shower drain的正下面有滴水。滴水的位置距离木头翘起来大约2
尺。
我昨天自己仔细检查了standing shower,发现在shower的周边跟shower的底接触的地方很
不严密，以前弄的caulk都起来了，之间有缝隙。所以我怀疑水是从这个缝隙漏出去了。
这个缝隙的地方比地板高。所以从这个缝隙漏出去之后流到了地板。
大家觉得我的分析有道理吗？
因为如果是drain或者pipe漏水，都很难解释为什么木地板下面会有水。两个
contractor
都说木地板下面有水很奇怪！

发帖数: 10232 | 6 想了一下，那个螺母是和龙头互相拧紧，中间的防水铜环在两边拧紧逼近的同时被挤压
，这样牢靠压紧在pipe上。所以，如果从龙头放心往螺母看，那螺母确实应该是逆时针
拧紧。
从拆下旧龙头后，那个旧的螺母已经在pipe上松了（可以随意转动）但是缺弄不下来。
新的龙头是用一个plier和手拧上的，估计也不够紧，漏水很有可能。（现在整个新龙
头和旧螺母相当于一个整体，可以在pipe上转动。。。）
怕闯祸就是担心不能排除我拧旧龙头的时候把墙里面的pipe拧裂了。。。 |

close to the floor. In my case, 80% of the pipes are installed along the
ceiling in an unfinished basement. I don't see any reason to damage the
pipes, unless you have a sunken foundation or fallen wall. In those cases,
you have bigger things to worry.

1）在前面可能没有表达清楚。B-Vent 管的安装，需要从furnace 一直接到屋顶，如果
在墙里边的不是B-Vent pipe(希望是), 那么需要全换成B-Vent pipe. 需确定
2）type b flex vent pipes 最好不要装，如一定要装, 装了一个还行， 接furnace
不允许有2个，图上看不清， 需确定

在踢脚线后面的dry wal已经糟了，糟墙后面有water pipe.
请了leak detecting的人来，整个屋内都没有查到有pipe leaking的迹象。
只是墙里的那个pipe周围有潮湿的土壤。
他怀疑是concret base下面的土壤可能有积水顺着pipe边上的缝隙而上溢造成的。
HOA在这里的irregation确实很冲，房子周围都是泥泞的，有积水。
想找HOA的人把irregation停两周看看，可是HOA根本连电话都不回。
想问一下一般向这种情况，HOA有责任帮我们查吗？
如果真是因为下面土壤积水造成的，他们应该赔吗？
不会一定要找律师吧？
另外，有没有可能把下面的水泥打开看一看呢？找什么样的人能干这种事呢？

发帖数: 330 | 20 Water heater前段时间叫plumber来修了一下loose的flue pipe.。就是water heater上
方的白管子。plumber割掉一小段松了的pipe,换上新的。说弄好了，不会有CO漏出来了
。这个loose flue pipe的问题是inspection时发现的。我们刚搬进这个房一个月。
现在的问题是water heater运行时老发出里面有异物撞击的声音，很象烘干机烘干衣服
时衣服在里面抛来抛去的声音。声音不小，我们在楼上都能听到。我pretty sure这个
声音在plumber修管子之前是没有的。打电话给plumber,他让我们把water heater的温
度调低点。我们调了，好像管用了一个晚上，第二天又有声音了。plumber说也许是
sediment的问题。可是这个噪音我很sure是修完管子后才有的。但是声音从tank里出来
，好像跟上面的pipe又没什么关系。
大家帮忙分析一下。需不需要找professional来看一下。
房子还没warm up,修理费倒是掏了不少。pain啊。 |

？
我昨天网上买了一种root killer叫 Roebic FRK Foaming Root Killer。因为这种
root killer会形成foam，如果我现在用这种chemical的话会不会导致pipe彻底堵死了。
或者，我已经确认两块root cluster的位置了，如果我不用snake也不用root killer，
而是挖开相应位置的草皮，把那些invade到pipe里的root外侧剪断，会不会有作用？

sump pump, 费用大约10K上下。我去他家吃饭（饭做得很难吃），又看见夫妻俩愁眉苦
脸的样子，觉得很不痛快：请客吃饭没啥好菜（超市买的风抓之类）也没有个晴朗的脸
色，吃晚饭也没有茶水尕飞的。于是溜达到房子外面看看，准备一会就告辞。垂头丧气
的师弟跟出来，就指着漏税的地方给我看。我一看之下大喜过望，立刻大声说不用花这
个冤枉钱了：attic上面的引水槽下来直接落在漏税的地方了。我俩飞奔到homedepot买
了一管，撸了撸，插进了attic引水槽pipe末端，后来下大雨蟗事没有：attic上下来的
水都被撸过的管排到稍远的地方去了。师弟是高兴坏了，咧着嘴笑个不停，省了一大笔
银子。事后为了 对我表示了感谢，送给我一罐家乡特产的蚕豆，把我一颗槽牙都崩断
了，除了保险的copay，还自付了块100。

初次去是去年这个时候，当时header pipe坏掉，车噪音很大。先去了版上推荐的g win
，但水平实在是不敢恭维，都检查不出来啥问题。然后去了save auto，虽然贵，当时
修了后还是消除噪音了。开了1年，又出现了噪音，去save auto check后被告知，
exhaust manifold 和gasket crack了需要换新的。要我付450刀。鉴于我那破车也就
2000多刀的样子，实在不想花这么多银子在上面，就问能不能换used part，他们说可
以，打了一个电话后和我说，还是新的，不过可以降到350. 我很诧异，为啥价格降这
么快，人家说在toyota part那边有朋友（我狐疑为啥不早点说捏？）。。
好了，开始察觉出其不老实了，于是俺就自己当场上网查这part的price，发现只需要

有几种方法
1) 去买那种很strong的bond. Fredm和lowes都有. 是一个tube的. 里面是一种混合
泥. 要在手里搓才有bonding的. 然后apply to the hole. 非常strong, 专门修plumbing pipe的.
2) 如果是可以换的一个piece, 那么, 就更方便了, 拆了, 换一个.
3) 如果是copper pipe, 你要买 a-copper cutter ($10左右), 一段 pipe, 然后一个
焊接copper pipe 的package($20 左右). 自己搞, 完全新手, 最多两个小时.
在修之前, 把main闸关了, 切记! |

drain pipe安装不在contract里，必须赶在contractor backfill之前把pipe给装上，
为了能够让pipe slope，就得先back fill一部分。开始没把这点backfill当回事，我
老人家已经刨树根挖土忙活了多半年了，后院的小山已经被我挖掉一半了，以为只是往
坑里添一层薄土，很简单。大汉淋漓的干了两个小时发现自己的想法太简单了，要回填
的土根本不是一点，是相当的多，尤其到了坡度的高处，几乎要添满将近一半的高度，
而且坑边的表层土已经被推土机推到远的地方，非表层的土异常坚硬，一镐狠狠的刨下
去，只能刨动一点点，没有土源拿什么回填？！一小车一小车的从远处运土就更麻烦了
，星期天当天完成pipework就几乎是不可能完成的任务了，而contractor星期一就来
backfill了。着实让我紧张了一下，只有改变策略，变回填为在墙的侧面固定，于是冲
到HD买来了一堆估计能用得上的东西（后来证明有好几样都没法用，算是交了学费了）

Hard to say without being there. Most newer houses use PVC or ABS drain
pipes. These expand/contract much more than cast iron pipes (still used in
premium houses and in some situations by code for fire reasons). When using
hot water, that expands the pipe, then, after you stop, it will then cool
off and contract back. Depending on how it is routed and anchored, it can

应该是PIPE,而且属于当天的顶级大浪, 翻卷过来力量很强,

control valve one by one. Just make 3 cuts on the
back of three pvc which connect to the ground.
Then remove the 3 valves from where PVC connect to the
main pipe.
When install new ones, please make sure the T connector
should be in the ground. Also leave extension pipe so
later one you can just cut the end cap and add more
station.
I draw a picture, the back pipe is the original in ground
pipe. Should be easy. Make sure the station is above the

occasionally, the water left in the pipe and actually in the bottom of the
dish washer will provide a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. Have
you ever looked into the drain pipe of the dish washer?
I did. Once I had to replace the pipe due to some leaking problem.
Surprisingly, I found the pipe was as dirty as sewer (they actually are
connected).
That is the main reason I don't use dish washer anymore. Even for those

1) 约翰*济慈生于1795年。幼丧父母，由祖母抚养长大。他的弟弟汤姆1818年死于肺结核。济慈在照顾汤姆的过程中不幸被感染，两年后去世。死时年仅25岁。
2) 我第一次知道济慈是在进大学不久的一次诗歌社团活动。主持活动的师兄刚介绍完济慈的生平，下面立刻响起一个女生的轻呼：(这么年轻就死去)太可惜了。而我的第一反应是：济慈的祖母会非常、非常伤心吧。。。不知为什么，这个镜头一直在我的记忆里清晰地存在，而大学时代其他很多更重要的事情却慢慢淡去。
3) 济慈最著名的作品当然是<<夜莺颂>>。他本人学医。所有诗作几乎都是在去世前两年创作。下面翻译的<<希腊古瓶>>，直译的话是<<对一个希腊瓶子的颂歌>>，是济慈数首颂歌之一。我本人也是不久前才偶尔读到、认真欣赏。这是对一个希腊古瓶的怀古之作。古瓶上应该画着树叶、人物、村庄等等。

起因是想从一个video文件在任意时间点读取图像出来。 最开始是用opencv实现的，在
一些文件上测试也没有问题。后来换了一批h264格式的video文件就有问题了，很多文
件读取不出来。 在网上查了一下后，换成用moviepy来读取。 但是现在有新的问题是
就是moviepy在读取有些video文件在初始化阶段就死锁了。 跟踪进去，发现问题主要
出现在：
s = self.proc.stdout.read(nbytes) 语句时。
这个之前还有一堆初始化的代码， 主要是调用ffmpeg来执行并声称一个pipe.

个pipe里，后者的每个pipe再输入到一个单独运行的decoder & filter进程。在N核的
机器上，应该能有接近N倍的加速比。 |

example truck running over a series of speed bumps) is far away from the
pipe's resonant frequency (and it is very likely so), your pipes are going to
be fine in terms of dynamic forces.
Worst case of scenario, your truck hit on speed bump at high speed, the
force transfered from timber block to pipe will be a pulse excitation. If
this is true, a dynamic amplification factor of 2 should be ok.

每次做pipe design总不可避免的跟各种engineer打交道,个人觉得对宏观和微观理解
project设计运作都很有帮助,当然,piping design can always drive you crazy...
I think you won't use any of the piping or pumping design skills as an
Environmental Engineer, but the fact that you've got involved with other
discipline of the business is definitely benificial to your future career
path as PM or doing marketing |
