office, will soon merge with an international company.
Malcolm Pirnie is being acquired by Arcadis, an international engineering
company based in the Netherlands. The merger is expected to be completed
sometime next month, subject to approval by the private company’s 80
internal shareholders.
The company’s board of directors has unanimously approved the merger, worth
$222 million in cash and shares.

第二类， 水处理公司， 比如GE Water， Dow Water Solution， Pentair之类的，这
些应该归于制造业，提供水处理产品和工程应用。
不知道我这样分合不合理，感觉大家平时谈论的好像都是第一类，经常讨论的话题“
master vs phd 哪个好找工作”好像也是针对第一类。
我自己问过Malcolm Pirnie的一个地区OFFICE的头， 他们确实不怎么要PHD， 但是对
于水处理的企业呢？
看moonsmile在“master和phd哪者好找工作？”一文中的回复：“我们公司做process
的还是偏向要phd,or master with working experience”这里的process应该就是
water process吧？

当时跟Malcom Pirnie的人聊天的时候他说他们不招PHD是因为没有R&D，他说有R&D的公
司会比较喜欢要PHD
那么是否可以这么理解， 大多数做工程和咨询的公司是没有R&D的，所以他们倾向于要

而水处理的公司研发会比较重要，所以他们喜欢PHD？ |

As far as I know, there is a research center in this company. Quite a few
Ph.D. are working there. Mike McGuire as a vice president of this company
likes to recruit the fresh Ph.D. in his office in California. |
