gloom, and many chemistry jobs are draining. You have to realize this.
Many chemists with a job now are worrying about job security, therefore,
landing a job is never the end. Making yourself more marketable (not
necessarily only in chemistry) is the key. Otherwise, when you lose job in
the 50', very difficult to get comparable one... |

BUT,BUT, you have to land a job first. You should realize that most guys can
NOT get a job right now,there are no openings. That is why I said "a job is
good enough" !!

to pay close attention to the environment around you. Yes, w/o GC, no
experience, it is VERY difficult to get a job now, especially for PhDs, but
you should be aware of this 1-2 years ago if you pay attention to the mass
layoffs in the Pharm industry and the increasing outscource trend to China
and Asia. Knowing this, you need to adjust well before graduation, do I
love chemistry? If not, what alternative ways to go? |
