昨天回家问女儿知道现在有人提出因为希拉里赢了popular vote, 所以应该算她赢了，
她的看法，以下是我们的对话
我：你知道为啥希拉里赢了popular vote，缺输了electoral vote吗？
女儿：知道啊，因为Trump在每个他赢的州都赢得不多，但只要赢了，就是所有的选举
人票；而他在他输的几个州里，却输的比较惨，所以绝对数就比较大。
我：对，就比如举个极端的例子，希拉里只赢了加州和纽约州，她可以得到84张选举人
票，但这两个地方她一共比Trump多了300万popular vote。而Trump呢，在其他所有州
都赢了，可每个州只赢了5万popular vote，这样他有454张选举人票但可能只赢了希拉

我以前的一个同事还真跟Obama在夏威夷做过小学同学。据他回忆，Obama是个略显成熟
的孩子。不知道为什么，如果全班在争执什么事情的时候，只要他一说，“Well, I
think...” 大家就会一起停下来，安静地听他说。对有些人，人格魅力是天生的，而
且很小的时候就显现出来了。

我认为Leadership在不同年龄段，不同工作环境中的具体要求是非常不一样的。比如小
的时候，从self－leadership开始，独立，自觉，自己做决定，错了吸取教训，然后
move on，做事不骄不躁，就很了不起了。之后的是peer leadership，比如老师喊“排
队了”，就召集大家排队，或者召集大家一起捣乱。如果有什么需要take risks in
front of peers的事情，自己先来，做不好也不怕别人笑话，自嘲一下就过去了。这些
都是leadership在不同年龄段的体现，但是跟popular不一定有直接关系。
有些孩子有leadership的技能或潜能，但是他们的心智成熟度超过了同龄人，所以暂时

悦选民的能力。
中国体制下不是这样，可能越popular的政治家死的越快。取悦上级比取悦大众更有效。
大多数中国移民家长是不希望孩子在美国从政的，一来没优势，二来有阴影，三来这不
符合中国父母习惯的游戏规则：读书、上名校、找好工作、安居乐业。所以推崇好好学
习，有点排斥所谓的popularity。视之为肤浅。
其实这种看法也是一种定见和偏见。并非只有follow大众、物质、浮华、成绩差的孩子才popular。linsanity，不就散发着清新而朝气蓬勃的味道么？
若亚裔多一些象小林一样popular的阳光男孩女孩，将非常有利于改变亚裔在美国的刻
板印象。

，很受女生欢迎，身边围了四五个小美女。听说，他今年刚入学，就已经成为全校最受
欢迎的人，所有人都希望是他，跟他做朋友的人都能算酷娃了。这个太神奇了，只从外
观看很难想象呀。需要指出的是这个高中亚裔非常少。
popularity到底是什么呢，这问题好像一直来说对亚裔家长有点神秘，看电影也就是足
球队长，拉拉队美女之类的，现在看来也不尽然。
孩子说其实大家都很崇拜聪明的小孩，聪明又有趣，就无敌了。受欢迎与否主要还是看
个性。如果聪明但是古怪孤僻，那就糟糕了，会容易被bully。
去年本地另外一所高中的homecoming 晚会，当选的King（学校最受欢迎的男生）就是
一个中国学霸娃，好像他也没有参加什么体育活动，来年春天就被哈佛录取了。那个学
校有四千多学生，亚裔大概10%左右，所以并不是一个亚裔为主的学校，算典型的美国
学校，学业和体育都非常突出，是附近中产阶级家庭的首选。
说回到孩子的学校，去年大家一致要推选E做homecoming king。这个E我们也认识，瘦

百分之九十还是百分之百会选后者。。。
但是说实话，除非在Texas或者加州这种老中集中的地方，其他地方一个年级就几个中
国孩子，你想popular？难度太大了。以下内容全面来自于我一个学社会学并且有比较
大孩子的同事：
"要知道从初中开始孩子们就开始自觉的按照族群和家庭背景分开了，比如hang out什
么的， 白人和白人一起，黑人和黑人一起，亚裔在一起，这个时候需要的不是popular
, 需要的是self estimate。如果孩子之前和白人孩子玩儿的很好，突然被疏远了，难
免心理有挣扎，对于自我的认定和自信的建立都需要有个过程，所以让他一直对作为中
国人很矫傲的心理建设需要从小作起，否则我们过去见过听过的一些ABC非常反感痛恨
自己黄色面孔的事情就会发生。"
至于popularity， NPR也作过反省，这种过度重视体育的风气，导致现在女生上大学的
绝对人数都多于男生，估计以后大学会有女子橄榄球，男生却只能因为人数不够坐观众

在我们中学，男孩子一向是有钱的比较popular, 你想加入那个行列，上千块的walkman

。现有electol vote制度保证美国只有两个主要政党，美国保持统一。看看欧洲的选举
就知道，而且欧洲都是小国，每个国家内人种差距不大。

开票出来：
1）川普在加州一票没有，希拉里得49，900，000票。

就用circular buffer吧

可是 我就想 比如

然后就要把 所有s打头的词都排序了 然后选前几个显示吗？

发帖数: 3616 | 37 兄弟，你joke大了吧。我以为你经常口出“500px是个joke”是研究过pulse算法呢。
你看到的49.9/50是当前的pulse，你点开每张照片把鼠标放在那个score上面就可以看
到他的历史最高pulse。而那个pulse才是真正有意义的数字。因为任何照片，即使曾经
到过99.9第一页第一张的照片，最终都会回到49/50。
本来打算之后写一篇500px算法解释的，你这么气急败坏的，我就稍微解释下。500px的
pulse只对你上传的24小时有效。24小时内能到多少分就意味着你照片的popular程度。
24小时一过，你的照片将会被系统自动扣分，而且扣的很多，我记得99.5+的照片第一
次扣完就直接掉到8X去了。一旦被扣分，你的照片就会掉到list很底下，也不会有多少
人关注了。也就是说24小时一过，这张照片的生命就基本结束了，很难再有点击率，之
后经过时间推移被一点点扣分，最后被回到4X-50分。

Swift, Apple's new programming language for iOS and OS X applications, has
rocketed up the charts in two monthly tabulations of programming language
popularity.
Introduced in early June, the language enters the July Tiobe Index at number

这几个小朋友都是不popular，但是是好朋友，也蛮开心的

和我做一家（幸好有几个非常popular的好友）。我是到初中才popular的，但那也是因

poll would show a 1-2% lead for Trump. Unlike those polls by the TV
stations, polls like IBD do care about their reputation.
Most of these "scientific" polls do racial, party, economic, age profiling.
All of the polls would conduct profiling from past election/elections or
available official data in 2014 or 2015. So if the poll have biased
profiling, such as the ABC, you would seen some ridiculous double digit lead
