Google stock jumps 3% on report that the company has curbed hiring
Google's stock is up more than 3% Tuesday afternoon, seemingly following a
Wall Street Journal story about the company's recent spending and hiring
curbs.
As Google becomes more complex, it's trying to find ways to make itself more
efficient, specifically by being increasingly judicious about hiring in

市房产交易历史纪录。
这栋殖民地建筑风格的房子屋龄83年，室内面积只有4721平方呎，最初是李维牛仔裤承
继人史腾（Lucie Stern）所设计，1972年转手成交价仅100万，后来丢空了数十年，直
至最近才挂牌出售。买房子的主管是Google今年5月才聘用的财务长波勒（Ruth Porat
）。今年57岁的波勒，原是华尔街著名财务机构摩根士丹利财务长。彭博新闻社说，
Google以7000万元年薪，将她从华尔街挖走。
波勒长期在摩根士丹利工作，2010年到2015年担任财务长，被誉为华尔街最有权势的女

网易科技讯11月2日消息，据华尔街日报报道，在美国和中国在贸易和技术问题上争执
不休之时，美国公司在一个关键领域仍保持着对中国竞争对手的重大优势：研发支出。
普华永道的一份最新报告显示，以亚马逊和谷歌母公司Alphabet为首的美国公司在研发
方面的投资达到了中国公司的5倍多。普华永道的报告追踪了全球最大（按研发支出计
算）的1000家上市公司在截至6月30日的一年时间里的研发支出情况。
中国三大科技巨头百度、腾讯控股和阿里巴巴集团的研发支出都低于至少44家其他的公
