A suspect was shot during a home invasion Wednesday night and a second was
held by residents until police arrived in the 3900 block of Long Point Blvd.
One of several residents inside the home pulled out a gun and fired after

。其中的一些著述强调英国工业革命的重要作用，以致给人一种印象，即近代英国的崛
起主要归因于在英国率先开始的工业革命。这其实是一个似是而非的错觉。因为，所谓
“崛起”，是一个特定的概念，特指一个相对弱小的国家在它所处 国际体系内力量排
位的快速提升，成为该体系内的一流大国；至于数一数二的顶级大国继续壮大的历程，
或一流大国之间的相互赶超，则不应划入“崛起”的范畴。 换言之，“崛起”不是指
一国力量“绝对值”的不断提高(因为近代以来几乎所有国家的绝对力量都在不断增长)
，而是指较弱小国家之国力在国际力量对比中的 “相对值”的急剧上升。
就此而言，英国从1688年之前的一个欧洲二流国家壮大为1763年西方世界的头号强国，
完成了崛起的过程。在此之后发生的工业革 命，虽然促使了英国经济实力之绝对值的
急剧提升，使其工业生产能力遥遥领先于其他欧洲国家，但它仅仅是巩固和增强了英国
已有的大国地位，或者说是促使英国 崛起后的继续壮大。

ABC」（American Born Chinese，美国出生华人）等在当地成长的亚裔移民后代，他们
决心呼吁上一辈放下长久以来对黑人族群的歧视和积怨。
「爸爸、妈妈、叔叔、姨姨……我们要谈谈」、「我们欠他们太多了」……在美国成长
的一众亚裔后代在影片中，读出一连串沉重心底话组成的公开信。内容指他们的上一代
均为移民，甚少关注黑人权益，甚至对他们偏见重重。比如，第一代亚裔移民认为，既

【欧洲时报网】最近，BBC委托城市中心的专家做了英国城镇收入的调查，数据涵盖人
口在13万5千人以上的城市建成区，排出了整个英国最高收入和最低收入城镇的榜单。
据BBC News介绍，作者Andrew Carter是首席执行官，Paul Swinney是城市中心的研究
和政策主管，该中心正在努力了解英国城市中经济增长和变化的方式和原因。

华人在美国偶尔会遇到被种族歧视的遭遇，但其实华人本身也可能是歧视别人的一方。
一场「反歧视黑人」的运动正如火如荼，而主导运动的正是一群亚裔人士，包括很多「
ABC」（American Born Chinese，美国出生华人）等在当地成长的亚裔移民后代，他们
决心呼吁上一辈放下长久以来对黑人族群的歧视和积怨。
「爸爸、妈妈、叔叔、姨姨……我们要谈谈」、「我们欠他们太多了」……在美国成长
的一众亚裔后代在影片中，读出一连串沉重心底话组成的公开信。内容指他们的上一代
均为移民，甚少关注黑人权益，甚至对他们偏见重重。比如，第一代亚裔移民认为，既
然亚裔能「凭努力于美国社会向上游」，非裔没法如此只是「咎由自取」。而移民第二
代在成长过程常接触非裔同侪，知道种族歧视议题没有这么单纯，故无法认同上一辈的
态度。
