据当地人说，那么大的雪是非常罕见的。
身怀六甲的我，每天开着一辆破破的小车去上班，路上提心吊胆的，生怕出事儿。公司
的人基本上不是芝加哥就是波士顿来的，这点儿雪在人眼里是小的不能再小的小巫。所
以，公司照常开门。我还得继续提心吊胆地开车继续上班。
圣诞前一天，我小心翼翼，蜗牛爬行的速度开车上班时，NPR新闻里播着Florida的大选
投票的recount。那是当时的一大事儿，公民投票一个月，下届美国总统竟然还没产生
，两党继续唇枪舌剑，美国民众没有一个时候比这个时刻更加divided。
好容易在公司熬到下班，回家的路上NPR讲了这样一个故事。1914年，第一次世界大战
的战火燃烧着欧洲，但是在圣诞节前夕，很多战场都开始停火，到圣诞夜，双方的战士
交换着歌曲祝福甚至食物。这就是历史上著名的Christmas Truce。
也许，在这个日子即将到来的时候，我们都能在普天同庆中，认识到圣诞节的真正意义
，这是Jesus Christ的生日，是peace and love的象征。
