挺看重diversity的，经常从文科专业招人。考医学院需要这些资历
（肯定还有一些漏掉的东西）：
1. 修过一年的微积分，一年的普通物理，一年的普通化学/无机化学，
一年的有机化学，一年的普通生物学，一年的普通生理学。所以如果
你是文科生，你需要在大学里修两年的课。原因是微积分是理化的
prereq，必须先修。然后无机化学是有机的prereq，也必须先修。
这样两年就过去了。生物好像是生理的prereq。当然，这些课程
的GPA也要3.7以上。生化要不要求我记不住了。应该是不要求的吧。
2. 一定数量的clinical volunteering经验。具体多少各个学校
要求不同。并且你要和诊所的医生搞好关系，拿到热情洋溢的
推荐信。
3. 最好有一点其他volunteering经验，比如老人院，孤儿院，慈善
机构什么的。这是您老有爱心的重要证据。
4. MCAT考试。不用说，越高越好。
5. 动人的笔头和口才。一般医学院的申请有三轮。头两轮都是写花样

我一个同学BMCC毕业的在我们program，
他BMCC用的paper都可以拿过来接着交，
每次只要挖挖以前的paper拿来交就行了，
说明ASN和BSN很多课其实都差不多的，
就是听说suny downstate学校那边很多黑人，
你实地跑一次去看看，但是他们有自己的medical center，
我选hunter因为地铁方便，在曼哈顿，大部分都是白人和亚裔，部分黑人，
SUNY他们那个program prefer有绿卡的学生，要申请要尽量早点。
RN－BSN Nursing的课都是每学期几个paper APA format，
老师都会提前告诉你要写什么，
最多就是有个期中考，有些没有期中考，
期末一般没有考试，平时就是听老师讲课，
看看老师给的文章，做几个online的certificate考试，
最多一个paper，然后期末就是group presentation。

of English and math or show your college transcript to waive the
requirement to take certain courses. Some pre-reqs have pre-reqs (e.g. You

Management这类课的标准设置。Lisp实现Prolog解释器或者in-memory
SQL引擎什么的，也是Programming Languages这类课(就讲三个东西，
Lisp, Prolog，和形式化语言初步）常见作业。一个二字头的课，一个三字
头但是prereq少的课。俺都是大二修滴。 |

may I take some prereq (bachelor) classes in a community college at A state
and then apply to the master program of an university in B state ?
check some webpages, it looks like that univerities only accept transferred
credits from LOCAL community college.

发帖数: 18 | 15 转MD/PhD在emory确实可以，但是要求至少90个本科学分是在美国和加拿大的大学里修
的，你这种情况最好还是踏踏实实干phd，争取在最短时间内搞定绿卡，同时把所有医
学院需要的prereq全部修完，另外不管是MD还是MD/PhD都不需要GRE,只需要MCAT，MCAT
明年开始要改题目了，评分系统不知道会不会变，但是现在的情况是如果想录取机会大
一点最好考到35分以上 (MD only), MD/PhD的话最好38+，现在applicants的考分一年
比一年高 |

发帖数: 179 | 18 Ph.D 应该不会刻意的减分，我也是Ph.D 毕业去读的Pharm.D的，但是有一个问题就是
面试的时候，一定要回答好为什么想转过来 （不能说钱的原因），这个理由说好了，
ph.D 就是加分的了。还有我建议多申请几个学校。还有别忘了这一年把prereq都修好
，有ph.D并不代表可以免修一些课，很多学校对修课有时间限制，在一定年份之内。 |

Diff schools have diff requirements.there were schools that didn't require
history...back then. but if they are required, i don't think there is a way
to get around it. pharmacy schools are pretty strict on prereqs.

有补，本科所有的科目都算了，本来有一门english要补的，结果他们通知我错了，一
开始说我什么都不用补，后来又说要我补，错过了注课时间，我和他们argue了，后来
就一门也不用补。我建议拿着你认证过的成绩单和学校的人见一次面，看他们觉得怎么
样，然后在补课。有的时候超乎你想象，没准就不用补课了。 |

入取我的学校是 University of Maryland, UNC-Chapel Hill, Temple University 跟
Jefferson School of Pharmacy.
被 waitlist 的学校是 Campbell University.
我现在比较想去 Jefferson School of Pharmacy 跟 UNC-Chapel Hill. 不是很想去
University of Maryland 的原因是 如果 要上的话，我夏天还要再读3们 Prereq 的
课。 不喜欢 Temple University 是因为 他们的campus 是在 North Philly, 一个非
常 ghetto 的 location,而且他们的 Hospital 也没有 Jefferson 的 hospital 有名
。 据说他们的 rotation sites 也没有 Jefferson 的好。

发帖数: 802 | 23 我今年进ut，楼上2位前辈什么时候有空认识认识？我申请了ut和uh，ut或uh如果有美
国本科学历可以免core课程。prereq不能免。我重新上了4门化学加试验，微积分2，英
文写作1，文学，public speaking。其他的由于美国phd和国内的评估成绩给免了。不
过觉得ut的系统有点混乱，uh在你申请后面试之前就告诉你还差什么课，ut到给了
offer之后还要我不断跟进还是和admission office之间互相题。

PA program一般都比较competitive，每个program每年招收的人数很少，小的program
大约5-8人，中等的12-16人，最大的program应该是quinnipiac university每年招24-
26人。我所知道的录取比例大约1/9-1/10。
1.Prerequisite courses
每个program的要求都不太一样，不过大概包括chemistry，organic chemistry，
biochemistry，microbiology，biology，anatomy，physiology这些基本的课程。如果
上过pathology，histology，immunology，cell biology，genetics这些课程，那更是
巨大的plus。
这个program的外国人很少，其中一个原因是大部分program要求prereqs必须on us or
canada based transcript，也就是说即使已经在美国博士毕业，如果这些课是当年在
