物数亿年的进化，如果每一代都像合成理论说的那样，通过小的基因改变逐步形成新的
物种，这个缓慢过程会留下数不清的中间类型。化石中看不到这个证据。化石证据表明
，许多软体动物都能保存下来，而且保存下来的物种在长达数亿年的时期中没有什么变
化，而在短短的一个时间跨度内，大约几十万年到一两千万年中，爆发出许多全新的物

Multiple media sources are reporting that South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley
will indeed name Rep. Tim Scott to be the next senator from South Carolina.
Scott will serve for two years, and then presumably run in a special
election in 2014. If reelected, he would serve an additional two years (the
remaining two years of the six-year term Jim DeMint was elected to in 2010)
