"There is only one suitable rabies vaccine and that is Merial's PureVax
rabies vaccine. This is a NON-adjuvanted vaccine.
DO NOT ALLOW AN ADJUVANTED RABIES VACCINE TO BE USED.
Unfortunately, the PureVax rabies vaccine only carries a 1-year rating even
though 2 studies have shown that it protects cats for much longer. This is
in contrast to the more dangerous adjuvanted rabies vaccines that carry a 3-

There is a risk I selectively read what I want to read:).
Rabies:
-The only non-adjuvanted is called PureVax by Merial. Their own study showed
it protected cats from rabies for three years. I suspect it could be even
longer because cats are like us, their immune system have memories. Legally
PureVax only good for one year. Unless your city law requires, I would only

Our city requires every pet to be licensed, and license need to be renewed
every year, with proof of Rabies vaccination.
For those of you who vaccinate the three year one, my research says it is
not as safe as the one year vaccine because it uses chemical called adjuvant
to purposely cause inflammation.
The only "safe" one for cats is called "Purevax". Science suggests that it
is effective for at least three years or longer but legally it is only good

I didnt do research on dogs, but for cats seems the only safe one is the one
year "purevax". |

然都是用Pfizer三年有效期的killed virus vaccine with adjuvant。请问有猫爸猫妈
知道休斯顿哪里的rabies疫苗用的是non-adjuvanted版本吗？比如PureVax？
如果实在没有，那就只好就近找个地方打了。city of houston规定rabies必须每年都
打才能license。顺便问一下，大家的indoor猫都有license吗？没有会怎样？

发帖数: 6158 | 6 嗯，前段时间也仔细研究过，最后决定还是遵守法规每年打rabies，确保用不加
adjuvent的疫苗（目前好像只有PureVax一种，我当时问了一圈才找到家附近一家vet有
），并且每三年打FVRCP |

发帖数: 6158 | 7 理论上说这些疫苗的实际有效期都比标注的一年或者三年要长，所以晚个十天半个月的
不用担心。
indoor猫猫个人觉得rabies和FCVRP还是最好保持up to date，一方面疫苗对控制疾病
很有效，另一方面满足相关法律法规政策要求，比如我们city要求每年rabies，还有据
说petplan不会赔付因为没有核心疫苗而感染上的这几种疾病。其他的疫苗就不需要了
，不是百分百有效，猫猫也没有处于高危环境。
不过疫苗确实是可能有副作用的，保险起见最好使用non-adjuvented疫苗，这个具体得
问vet，各个诊所不同，一般FCVRP都是non-adjuvanted，但是rabies很多都不是（貌似
目前只有PureVax是）。我当时问了附近好几家才找到一个，评价最高的一家都没有。。
总之我个人是这样操作的，rabies每年一次，FVCRP三年一次，只用non-adjuvanted疫
