献给在我深爱的母校度过的日日夜夜
1998年，我怀着文青梦，心心念念要考某大陆名校的英语语言文学系（原来打算考历史
系和文科基地班，老师父母劝阻，理由是将来就业会成问题，遂放弃），也考进了，十
年后还留在系里，求到份教职。十五年过去，山山水水看得渐渐清晰。
要交待一句，我在同一家大学的英文系，从本科念到博士，成绩始终不好不坏。留校后
，职业发展则是同辈中比较落后的。所以，体制内，我不能算既得利益派，心怀怨望，
发发牢骚很正常。而且，我素来偏激，年纪不小，依旧出言轻狂。尊敬的读者请务必注
意：在主流价值日渐遭 到怀疑的时代，牢骚、轻狂不一定是对的，需要批评看待。
本学期开学时，开明的领导组织我们开会，畅议教学改革的方向与步骤，当时我有一点
粗浅的想法。加之最近因为教学与两位师长发生小小误会，有所触动。所以，趁周末，

我进实验室第一天去找Prof Quirk，他问我哪儿来的
我说ECUST，

可惜我当时土鳖，加上应圣康当时又退休了，我说不认识。。。。。。当然也可能是他

告诉她我是她选区的，鼓励她反对SCA5.并建议正确的照顾弱者
的办法是按照家庭收入，而不是肤色。
同时威胁她如果她支持SCA5，我至少可以动员20张票反对她。
今天知道她申明不支持SCA5了。
不知道自己的电话作用有多大，但相信应该有一点点微弱的影响。
正是这些微弱影响的积累，才能给他们压力。
很多年前，认为谋事在人，成事在天是一种消极的思维。但现在
这是我生活哲学的一部分。很多事情，不需要考虑结果，知道要
达到某个目标，某些事情必须做，那么就去做，结果如何不重要。

protection and provide a grip on the pad.
1. After repeatedly tucking the flap behind the iPad, the binding was
compromised. Now when I prop up the iPad using the flap as a stand, the iPad
collapses. It's wasn't a sturdy stand to begin with -- now it's a flimsy
stand.
2. My major quirk about this case, is that it shows scuff marks really bad.
You have to clean the case constantly, to keep it looking nice.

I don't know which Apple Engineer came up with the idea that OS X should
include a window zooming effect but I bear nothing but animosity for this
person. Fortunately there is a solution.

own extensions as well.
The reason why a page can look just fine on IE but look terrible
can be many.
1. HTML is not well formatted. In this case, the browser enters the
quirk mode. IE and Netscape (aka Mozilla) browsers handle it
differently. Particularly, when the document has DTD setting
as the header (like html 4.0, xhtml transitional, etc) some browsers
intentionally ignoring ill-formatted parts to aid the debugg |

with doctype instructions. Otherwise it will use a quirks mode, which
deviates from the standards a bit. |

To know C well, to know how the underlying stuff (compiler quirks) well, and
don't need good "initial design" skills. (Maintenance engineer always
inherits code from others, so there is no room for design.)

Experiment --> Experiment and generate lots of data ---> prove or disprove
hypothesis.
so there is nothing wrong with hypothesis-driven. Not getting credited by
disproving/proving a hypothesis (depends on which is more scientifically
interesting or publishable) is the culprit. People have to find all means to
prove it is true/wrong by only showing favoring results or even fabricating
data.
