The categorical radiology is a five-year program which includes PGY-1. So
you only need to apply for those.
The radiology advanced programs start at PGY-2, and you will also need an

Radiologist查了一下，mean是400k，看到是有outsourcing的，但是还没有见到
radiologist下岗的。

Radiology只能多干活来挣钱，但是整天连续不停的读片子，那日子不是很好受的，现
在很多radiology已经快受不了了。根据调查，radiologist对工作的满意程度在医生中
是倒着数的，现在再一减经费，日子更是苦不堪言。现在不仅是收入在下降，连找工作
都有点困难，尤其是在ＬＡ这种地方。 不过我一点都不同情，大部分radiologista都
不受病人骚扰，少干点活，少挣点钱能死啊？ |

我感觉申请radiology如果有相关经历的话会是个big plus，虽然我只有一封美国
radiologist的推荐信，也没打任何电话和托人递简历,但是从面试的数量看还是可以
的。

发帖数: 54 | 10 我在国内做内科就是这种感觉。来米国以后第一次接触到radiology就觉得怎么没有早
发现做医生也可以这么有趣又赚钱。
Intern年我做的prelim IM，每天累得要死完全没有心情学习。现在终于熬到radiology
的residency了。感觉简直进了天堂。每天早上去上班都很期待，晚上回到家也会很开
心坐下来读上几个小时的书。我觉得真正找到自己喜欢的东西了。
医生不只有内外科，不防利用elective去转转别的科看看是否喜欢。我们医院的主治不
少都是做完别的科转行到radiology的。有一个senior甚至做完神经外科住院医发现自
己不喜欢转到了radiology。

以上硬性条件对大家是一个鼓励，因为这是一个不完美的package，甚至可以说有2大致
命缺陷：Step 1的低分和没有绿卡，尤其对match radiology来说。我自己也很遗憾，
但是我认识的Radiologist 觉得我还是应该试一试。
我的教训就是分数一定要高，在match前尽可能搞到绿卡。因为缺了这两样，我想可能
有2/3的programs直接就跳过我的申请材料了。有了这些好的硬条件，可能会带来多一
些Rads IV.

A Neuro-radiology fellow from a fairly good program did not get a job at his
graduation and went home without employment. This scares me from radiology.
It appears that pathology and radiology are in the same sinking boat. |

exactly the same. My attending told me that around 10 job offers per
applicant in Bush era but 1 job offer per 10 applicants in Clinton era.
Rad is very sensitive to technology and politics. ACA really has a major
blow to radiology. One of my senior said that medicine is screwed by ACA and
radiology is super-screwed by ACA.
If you look across the border such as Canada, rad is prospering there. It is

你要是先做IM pyg-1，再转radiology pgy-2，你得先看你做的IM pyg-1 的轮转设置是
不是符合radiology的要求。各个IM program 轮转设置不一样，各个radiology
program要求也不一样。估计你得先查好吧。然后再考虑IM 的PD是不是同意给你写推荐
信。
我查了别的论坛关于同时申请同一个学校categorical和prelim的讨论，有的说不好，
给人感觉不focus，有的说没事，如果真的同时收到categorical和prelim的面试，就说
你非常喜欢这个学校，无论给什么offer都接受。个人感觉，对只申请内科的同学来说
问题不大，但对同时报两个专业的人来说，如果他们知道你也报了别的advanced
program，他们会立刻知道你做完pgy-1可能会走，估计即使给你面试，也不会rank你很
高。有的program还着重强调prelim只给同时报两个专业的人准备。感觉如果同时申请
prelim和categorical，被prelim录取的可能性会减小。但是据说prelim比categorical

业的主要依据。
cardiology和radiology都可以做carotid stenting， 你知道他们的区别吗？前者的病
人是他们自己的，后者需要其他医生给refer。 所以目前很少听说有radiology做
carotid stenting，这就是细节决定结果。
喜欢跟病人直接打交道就做cardiology，反之radiology比较适合你。 至于打不打架这
种事就超出你考虑到范围了。 如果在Private practice，作为radiologist你恐怕一辈
子都做不上carotid stenting，但在kaiser这样的机构，你恐怕会忙不过来。 |

贝志城：十号发了那是个周一，周三我就给朱令他爸爸打电话说，我看到提问里还有说
是铊中毒。
贝志城：很多医生很激烈地发表意见，说一定要作这个化验，因为她的症状太像铊中毒
了。
朱令父亲：贝志城给我打了个电话，说有人觉得是不是就是铊中毒。
朱令母亲：他（贝志城）说，阿姨你是怎么了，这么多人都说是铊中毒，你为什么就不

就是些技工， 学位2-3年就拿到。
我不少国内学医的朋友来美以后为了快上岗， 转做radiology, 碰见就是诉苦收入低。
要是放射科的医生主管可能收入还高一些， 普通的操作手， 比民工还不如。 |
